Bahçeşehir University contributes to the promotion of quality education by supporting lifelong learning activities through Free Resources for Lifelong Learners, Free Courses Leading to Certificates, and Free Access to Online Resources. The following sections provide details on the implementation of these initiatives:
1- BAU Open Learning
Bahçeşehir University open learning platform is a free and public education platform. It includes online course contents in different categories prepared by Bahçeşehir University academicians. Our free open access course platform can be accessed via the link below.
2- BAU Library
Barbaros Library supports educational and research programs of Bahçeşehir University and allows its users to access to the right information within the shortest time.
The library aims to offer support and convenience for all scientific researches and activities in order to meet academic information needs of the family of Bahçeşehir University as well as external users.
Bahçeşehir University academics and administrative staff, BAU students and graduates can benefit from the university library free of charge.
BAU library also provides free service to all individuals and institutions who want to benefit from the library.
Students and academics of other universities and all our stakeholders who want to benefit from the library can benefit from the library services with their daily entrance cards.

3- Open Certificate Programs
Bahçeşehir University organizes free and open education, workshops and certificate programs for the public and anyone who is not a university student through its faculties, continuing education center and research centers. Some examples of free and open programs opened in 2022- 2023 are as follows.
a- EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES IN TECHNOLOGY PROJECT CERTIFICATION PROGRAM IN COLLABORATİON WITH BAHÇEŞEHIR UNIVERSITY, YAPI KREDI and UNITAR, CIFAL Istanbul
Bahçeşehir University’s Technology Transfer Office has added another initiative to its University-Industry Collaboration efforts. Yapı Kredi, in partnership with CIFAL Istanbul, affiliated with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), and Bahçeşehir University, has launched the “Equal Opportunity in Technology” project to increase women's participation in the world of innovation.
Through the Equal Opportunity in Technology program, women between the ages of 18-27 will receive free training from experts on topics ranging from big data to artificial intelligence, cloud.
As part of the certification program, we aim to reach 80,000 women between 2023 and the end of 2026, raising awareness in the field of technology.
In this context, training content on topics such as big data, artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, the Internet of Things, and Industry 5.0, prepared by expert academicians from Bahçeşehir University, will be delivered to participants.
Participants who complete the training sessions included in the certification program and score 70 or above in the final exam will be eligible to receive an E-Government Approved Certificate of Achievement accredited by UNITAR and Bahçeşehir University. Those who complete 75% of the program will be eligible to receive a UNITAR-accredited certificate of participation.
The program is entirely free, and women between the ages of 18-27 who are interested in technology and wish to develop their skills in this field can apply to participate. Additionally, anyone living in “Hope Cities” established by Koç Holding after the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes, regardless of gender, is welcome to apply to our project.

b- THE MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY AND TECHNOLOGY OF THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY ISTANBUL DEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND BAHÇEÇEHIR UNIVERSITY SOFTWARE TALENT DEVELOPMENT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
In collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey, Bahçeşehir University - Wissen Academy, and with the support of the Istanbul Development Agency, a 480-hour talent development certificate program was established under the Software Talent Training and Employment Center.
The program, launched completely free of charge, is organized within BAU aiming to train qualified professionals for the software industry and meet the sector’s needs in this field. After completing 480 hours of free training, young software developers will be matched with job opportunities in the industry.
In line with this goal, candidates aged 18-35, who have been unemployed for at least a year or are recent graduates with an interest in new technologies, are encouraged to apply for the free training program.
Candidates will have the opportunity to attend 4 months of technical and career training led by experienced experts in the field. All participants who successfully complete the training will be awarded a professional competency certificate.

c- BAU BRIDGE CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS
The 5th edition of the BAU BRIDGE Certification Programs, organized by the Faculty of Economics, Administrative, and Social Sciences at BAU, open to everyone, was held in April 2023. These programs, which are free to attend for anyone who wishes to improve themselves, offer participants the opportunity to earn a certificate upon completion. In 2023, the programs were launched as two certification programs focused on entrepreneurship and sustainability.
BAU Bridge Entrepreneurship 101 Certification Program
This certification program consists of five main sections and relevant objectives:
1. Learning the basic concepts of sustainability, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and theoretical discussions related to these topics.
2. Understanding the discussions and new conceptual perspectives on changing social conditions during and after the COVID-19 process.
3. Learning the key concepts and theoretical discussions related to agriculture and sustainability, sustainable urban living, migration, and social cohesion in the context of the "New Normal."
4. Understanding the discussions and new conceptual perspectives on sustainability and crime.
5. Gaining knowledge and analytical skills related to project development and writing, project implementation, and reporting processes in the field of sustainability. Additionally, learning about fund utilization and stakeholder management.
BAU Bridge Sustainability and Social Responsibility Project Development and Implementation Certification Program
This certification program is designed to provide training focused on developing and implementing solution-oriented projects in areas such as changing social dynamics and sustainability, social issues, violence against women, migrants and refugees, migration, and social cohesion.
d- BAU DIPLOMAT SCHOOL CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
Bahçeşehir University's International Leadership Practice and Research Center (ULMER), under the Government Leadership School, has launched the Diplomat School program—a first in Turkey in terms of its name, format, and content, now meeting students with its revamped curriculum and structure.
To date, the Diplomat School has hosted a variety of distinguished guests, including ministers, ambassadors, members of parliament, thought leaders, and veteran academics—individuals who form the decision-making and advisory mechanism of the country’s foreign policy. With the support of these esteemed guests and the strong interest of participants, the program has continued to raise its standards each academic year.
The primary objective of the Diplomat School is to equip today’s and tomorrow’s diplomats and leaders with the knowledge and tools to become well-informed, capable individuals who can navigate national and international issues, solve problems, and make informed decisions, all supported by objective information and data.
The program is conducted in English and runs for 14 weeks on Mondays from 08:30 to 11:30. Each session features guest speakers in either single or multiple sessions, and every session concludes with a Q&A segment.
Participants who meet the 75% attendance requirement and successfully complete the final assessment will be awarded a certificate. Additionally, those who fulfill the attendance requirement alone will receive a participation certificate.
Diplomat School certificates, in conjunction with "Diplomacy School 22," can now be verified and recognized as educational certification via Turkey’s e-Government system. This year, the program will take place at Bahçeşehir University’s South Campus and, for the first time, will be offered in parallel with the undergraduate course "Diplomacy," in collaboration with the Faculty of Economics, Administrative, and Social Sciences.
As a comprehensive program, the Diplomat School explores a wide range of significant topics related to Turkey and global affairs, analyzing past and current events and processes.
Candidates who work in relevant fields and wish to enhance their skills can register for the program free of charge, within the program’s capacity.
e- BAHÇEŞEHIR UNIVERSİTY - REPUBLIC OF TURKEY MINISTRY OF CULTURE AND TOURISM D-ART HOUSE PROJECT AND EDUCATION PROGRAM
Bahçeşehir University, in collaboration with the T.C. Ministry of Culture and Tourism, has launched the D-Art House Project, an innovative initiative designed to foster creativity and artistic expression while supporting cultural preservation and development in Turkey.
The project, which began on June 20, 2022, was implemented by Bahçeşehir University until March 3, 2023. The D-Art House project and education program is entirely free of charge.
D-Art House: An Entrepreneurship Program under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s Support Program for Enhancing the Creativity and Entrepreneurial Potential of Youth in Cultural Industries, titled "The Future Belongs to the Youth."
The D-Art House project and education program, launched within the framework of Quality Education (SDG 4), Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9), Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10), Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17), provided the necessary expertise and training for artists and/or entrepreneurs aged 18-35 to produce within the creative sectors under the scope of digital arts.
During the training process, creative business ideas developed by participants were showcased in a virtual gallery, where they were introduced to potential institutions and investors.
The D-Art House project focuses on creative industries such as design, gaming, 3D visual design, visual effects, color grading, virtual and augmented reality, cinema, sound design, and advertising. The primary goal is to share the necessary knowledge and skills for becoming a part of the creative industries with the aspiring entrepreneurs accepted into the program.
The final scope of the project is to equip participants transitioning from independent creative work to production in the creative industries, enabling them to contribute to the national economy within the specified sectors and to transform their ideas into sustainable business concepts by connecting them with the relevant platforms.
The training provided to aspiring entrepreneurs under the D-Art House project lasted for 9 months. Participants received a 170-hour training consisting of 6 modules through the BAUKEM and BAU Hub Incubation programs.
After completing the training, participants produced works and creative ideas for a digital exhibition to present to potential investors and institutions, guided by mentors throughout the process.
The program was open to all individuals aged 18-35 who aspired to become entrepreneurs in the creative industries.
The 170-hour program consists of 3 stages:
1. Stage One: In the first stage, participants took part in a 6-module BAUKEM training. During this stage, participants were introduced to blockchain, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and minting services, gaining the knowledge to bring their entrepreneurial ideas to life.

o Advertising and Creativity
o Game Design and Gamification
o Branding, Patents, and Copyright in Digital Arts
o Digital Art Production and Sales Methods (NFTs, Blockchain)
2. Stage Two: In the second stage, participants attended incubation training organized by BAU Hub.
3. Stage Three: In the third stage, participants who completed the training on the project topics produced works within a specified timeframe, based on selected themes, under the supervision of the project team.
The D-Art House Project offered a unique platform for emerging artists, designers, and creatives to showcase their work, engage with industry professionals, and gain valuable insights into the evolving landscape of digital art and culture.
