Bahçeşehir University continues its lifelong education activities regularly in order to contribute to lifelong learning and to support the professional and personal development of society.
Within the scope of these activities, many educational programs, both ad-hoc and on programmed basis, are carried out free of charge and open to the participation of non-students
The vocational trainings designed and conducted by Bahçeşehir University are offered through dedicated units such as the Bahçeşehir University Continuous Education Center (BAUSEM) and BAUGO, which have been established specifically to operate in this field. In addition, various academic departments within the university also conduct vocational training and certificate programs.
The following first two parts provide information about BAUSEM and BAUGO. Subsequent content includes other examples of vocational trainings and certificate programs launched by BAU during the 2022-2023 academic year.

2.BAUGO and Vocational Training Programs
BAUGO is a next-generation lifelong learning center created through the collaboration between Bahçeşehir University (BAU), one of the leading institutions in the education sector for nearly 25 years, and eduGO, an innovative educational platform under the University. Drawing strength from this partnership, BAUGO has been providing services for over a decade, offering expertise in distance education, online learning, e-learning, and digital transformation in education to a wide range of national and international organizations.
BAUGO offers vocational training services in a wide range of subjects, designed to meet the evolving needs of individuals and organizations. The educational topics offered by BAUGO are the result of extensive research and are designed specifically for adult learning, taught by a team of expert instructors. 3.THE “EQUAL OPPORTUNITY IN TECHNOLOGY PROJECT” CERTIFICATION PROGRAM IN COLLABORATİON WITH BAHÇEŞEHIR UNIVERSITY, YAPI KREDI and UNITAR, CIFAL Istanbul
Bahçeşehir University’s Technology Transfer Office has added another initiative to its University-Industry Collaboration efforts. Yapı Kredi, in partnership with CIFAL Istanbul, affiliated with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), and Bahçeşehir University, has launched the “Equal Opportunity in Technology” project to increase women's participation in the world of innovation.
Through the Equal Opportunity in Technology program, women between the ages of 18-27 will receive free training from experts on topics ranging from big data to artificial intelligence, cloud.
As part of the certification program, we aim to reach 80,000 women between 2023 and the end of 2026, raising awareness in the field of technology.
In this context, training content on topics such as big data, artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, the Internet of Things, and Industry 5.0, prepared by expert academicians from Bahçeşehir University, will be delivered to participants.
Participants who complete the training sessions included in the certification program and score 70 or above in the final exam will be eligible to receive an E-Government Approved Certificate of Achievement accredited by UNITAR and Bahçeşehir University. Those who complete 75% of the program will be eligible to receive a UNITAR-accredited certificate of participation.
The program is entirely free, and women between the ages of 18-27 who are interested in technology and wish to develop their skills in this field can apply to participate. Additionally, anyone living in “Hope Cities” established by Koç Holding after the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes, regardless of gender, is welcome to apply to our project.

4.THE MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY AND TECHNOLOGY OF THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY ISTANBUL DEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND BAHÇEÇEHIR UNIVERSITY SOFTWARE TALENT DEVELOPMENT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
In collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey, Bahçeşehir University - Wissen Academy, and with the support of the Istanbul Development Agency, a 480-hour talent development certificate program was established under the Software Talent Training and Employment Center.
The program, launched completely free of charge, is organized within BAU aiming to train qualified professionals for the software industry and meet the sector’s needs in this field. After completing 480 hours of free training, young software developers will be matched with job opportunities in the industry.
In line with this goal, candidates aged 18-35, who have been unemployed for at least a year or are recent graduates with an interest in new technologies, are encouraged to apply for the free training program.
Candidates will have the opportunity to attend 4 months of technical and career training led by experienced experts in the field. All participants who successfully complete the training will be awarded a professional competency certificate.

5-BAU BRIDGE CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS
The 5th edition of the BAU BRIDGE Certification Programs, organized by the Faculty of Economics, Administrative, and Social Sciences at BAU, open to everyone, was held in April 2023. These programs, which are free to attend for anyone who wishes to improve themselves, offer participants the opportunity to earn a certificate upon completion. In 2023, the programs were launched as two certification programs focused on entrepreneurship and sustainability.
BAU Bridge Entrepreneurship 101 Certification Program
This certification program consists of five main sections and relevant objectives:
BAU Bridge Sustainability and Social Responsibility Project Development and Implementation Certification Program
This certification program is designed to provide training focused on developing and implementing solution-oriented projects in areas such as changing social dynamics and sustainability, social issues, violence against women, migrants and refugees, migration, and social cohesion.
6-BAHÇEŞEHIR UNIVERSITY - REPUBLIC OF TURKEY MINISTRY OF CULTURE AND TOURISM D-ART HOUSE PROJECT AND EDUCATION PROGRAM
Bahçeşehir University, in collaboration with the T.C. Ministry of Culture and Tourism, has launched the D-Art House Project, an innovative initiative designed to foster creativity and artistic expression while supporting cultural preservation and development in Turkey.
The project, which began on June 20, 2022, was implemented by Bahçeşehir University until March 3, 2023. The D-Art House project and education program is entirely free of charge.
D-Art House: An Entrepreneurship Program under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s Support Program for Enhancing the Creativity and Entrepreneurial Potential of Youth in Cultural Industries, titled "The Future Belongs to the Youth."
The D-Art House project and education program, launched within the framework of Quality Education (SDG 4), Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9), Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10), Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17), provided the necessary expertise and training for artists and/or entrepreneurs aged 18-35 to produce within the creative sectors under the scope of digital arts.
During the training process, creative business ideas developed by participants were showcased in a virtual gallery, where they were introduced to potential institutions and investors.
The D-Art House project focuses on creative industries such as design, gaming, 3D visual design, visual effects, color grading, virtual and augmented reality, cinema, sound design, and advertising. The primary goal is to share the necessary knowledge and skills for becoming a part of the creative industries with the aspiring entrepreneurs accepted into the program.
The final scope of the project is to equip participants transitioning from independent creative work to production in the creative industries, enabling them to contribute to the national economy within the specified sectors and to transform their ideas into sustainable business concepts by connecting them with the relevant platforms.
The training provided to aspiring entrepreneurs under the D-Art House project lasted for 9 months. Participants received a 170-hour training consisting of 6 modules through the BAUKEM and BAU Hub Incubation programs.
After completing the training, participants produced works and creative ideas for a digital exhibition to present to potential investors and institutions, guided by mentors throughout the process.
The program was open to all individuals aged 18-35 who aspired to become entrepreneurs in the creative industries.

7-BAU ULMER-GOVERNMENT LEADERSHIP SCHOOL AT BAHÇEŞEHIR UNIVERSITY: LOCAL GOVERNMENTS ACADEMY CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
Founded within Bahçeşehir University, the ULMER-Government Leadership School aims to cultivate future leaders through its programs, projects, and seminars while informing participants about critical issues in today’s world. With a mission to contribute qualified individuals to every level of politics and decision-making mechanisms, the ULMER-Government Leadership School has added the field of local governance to its scope with the Local Governments Academy Certificate Program. This program is designed not only to guide current local government personnel in navigating the evolving and changing systems of the new world order but also to equip individuals aspiring to work in local governance.
The ultimate goal of the program is to discuss the challenges in local governance and formulate policies that provide solutions to these issues.
For 13 consecutive years, the Local Governments Academy had become a traditional event. This year, the program, with new content and format, took place in collaboration with Bahçeşehir University and Beyoğlu Municipality.
To qualify for a certificate of participation, participants must attend at least 80% of the sessions. In addition to fulfilling this attendance requirement, candidates must also undergo an evaluation at the end of the program to qualify for the e-Government recognized certificate.
In line with the mission of contributing to lifelong learning, all candidates accepted into the Local Governments Academy 22 program, based on the mutual agreement between Bahçeşehir University and Beyoğlu Municipality, will benefit from the program with a 100% scholarship, making it completely free of charge
8-BAHÇEŞEHİR UNİVERSITY HOSTED "UNREAL ENGINE" TRAININGS
Organized by BUG Lab TEKMER and hosted by Bahçeşehir University in collaboration with Epic Games, Unreal Games Summit was held on August 12-13, 2023 at Bahçeşehir University Beşiktaş and Galata campuses.
Unreal Games Summit Turkey, which was held for the first time in Turkey, was organized by Turkey's leading game laboratory BUG Lab TEKMER (Bahçeşehir University BUG Lab Technology Development Center) in collaboration with Unreal Engine. Approximately 300 participants came together at Bahçeşehir University South Campus and Galata Campus in the event, which attracted great interest from high school and university students and sectoral stakeholders.
The event, which started its first day with masterclasses, speeches, panels and networking events with Unreal Engine experts from various countries around the world, gave gamers the opportunity to see and experience the Unreal Engine game engine and the games made up close.
In the training program, game owners who are currently making games, game entrepreneurs who are participating in the BUG Lab TEKMER Incubation and Pre-Incubation program, came together with the Epic Games team and found answers to their questions.
Special “Ask Me Anything and Show Me” sessions were held with Unreal Engine experts Arvind Neelakantan and Anzal Muhammad at the BUG Lab Kitchen on the BAU Galata campus.
In addition to the leading game developers and the Unreal Engine team in the sector, game entrepreneurs, students and artists from Turkey also attended Unreal Games Summit Turkey. In the extraordinary two-day event, participants had the opportunity to play games, have fun and share their experiences, and meet leading names in the sector.
