Derin Atay
Derin Atay (Ph.D in Language Education, Bogazici University) is a professor in the Department of Foreign Language Education at Bahçeşehir University, Istanbul, Turkey. Previously she worked at the ELT department of Marmara University Her research interests include teacher research, culture in language education, pre- and inservice teacher education and critical thinking in education. She has authored numerous articles in indexed journals and book chapters and conducted teacher professional development seminars.

Rod Bolitho
After nearly eight years as Academic Director and M.A. Programme Leader at Norwich Institute for Language Education (NILE), Rod Bolitho is now freelancing as a trainer and consultant. He started out teaching English in Germany and has been involved in teacher education and trainer training for over 30 years. He has been consultant to a number of British Council projects in Europe and beyond since 1989, and is currently involved in ELT reform work in Uzbekistan. He has visited Turkey on a number of occasions. He has authored many articles and a number of books, including (with Brian Tomlinson) 'Discover English' , (with Tony Wright) 'Trainer Development' and (with Amol Padwad) ‘Continuing Professional Development’. His main interests lie in the fields of Language Awareness, CPD, Trainer Training and Materials Writing. He enjoys reading, cooking and walking, and is a lifelong Liverpool FC supporter.

Liss Kerstin Sylvén
Liss Kerstin Sylvén is professor of Language Education at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. She received her PhD in 2004 with a thesis entitled Teaching English or English Teaching? On the Effects of Content and Language Integrated Learning on Swedish Learners’ Incidental Vocabulary Acquisition. Sylvén’s research interests have continued to focus on various aspects of content and language integrated learning, CLIL, in connection with second language acquisition and her work in this field has been published in journals such as International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism, Journal of Immersion and Content-Based Language Education. Studies in Second Language Learning and Teaching and The Language Learning Journal. Sylvén was the project leader of the large-scale, longitudinal research project Content and Language in Swedish Schools, CLISS, where effects of CLIL among senior high school students were explored from a number of perspectives. In addition to her interest in CLIL, Sylvén investigates effects of extramural exposure to English, a topic on which a co-authored book, Extramural English in Teaching and Learning. From Theory and Research to Practice, recently was published with Palgrave Macmillan, and other work of hers in this field has been published in journals such as ReCALL and CALICO Journal.
