2024-2025 Academic Year Fall Semester PhD Thesis Calendar

2024-2025 Fall Term PhD Programs, Qualifying Exam, Thesis Proposal, Thesis Monitoring and Thesis Defense Exams within the Graduate School will be held following the dates specified below.

 

December 6, 2024 Friday	Deadline for students who have chosen the qualification to choose an Advisor on the SAP system “Thesis/Project Application” tab.
December 20, 2024 Friday	Deadline for submitting the “Ph.D. Qualifying Exam Jury Suggestion Form” with wet signature to the Graduate School for students who will take the Ph.D. Qualifying Exam.
December 20, 2024 Friday	The due date for mail to [email protected] mail address with the Turnitin report which is controlled and given by adviser and both thesis' PDF and word version for  all students who will take their Phd thesis defense exam.
December 20, 2024 Friday	Deadline for submitting the “Thesis Defense Exam Jury Suggestion Form” with wet signature to the Graduate School for students who will enter the Ph.D. Thesis Defense.
January 11, 2025 Friday	Ph.D.; • Qualification, • Thesis Proposal, • Thesis Monitoring, • Thesis Defenses exam deadline.
January 17, 2025 Thursday	Deadline for submitting the exam report with wet signature for; • Qualification, • Thesis Proposal, • Thesis Monitoring to the Graduate School
January 17 2025, Friday	Deadline for submitting the “Thesis Monitoring Jury Suggestion Form” with wet signatures for students who were deemed successful in the Ph.D. Qualifying Exam.
February 7, 2025 Friday	Deadline for submitting for students who are successful in the Ph.D. Thesis Defense Exam; • Hard copy of the thesis whose format control has been completed, • 3 Thesis Approval Forms, • 3 Thesis Defense Exam Report, • The first page of the Turnitin Report, • 3 Data Entry Forms, • 2 CDs (Word and PDF versions of the thesis, with “the Appendix” part of the thesis as a separate compressed file.) to the Graduate School. Students who received Correction (6 months) in their PhD Thesis Defense; • 1 Thesis Defense Jury Report, • 1 Thesis Defense Exam Report  Deadline for hand-delivering to the Graduate School.

PhD Publication Examination and Evaluation Form

In order for a PhD student to take the thesis defense exam; one must publish at least one article related to the ones thesis/field, the first author of which is himself/herself, in a peer-reviewed journal scanned in at least one national or international field index or submit his/her acceptance letter to the Graduate School Board of Directors. Thesis advisors may appear as co-authors on this publication. In the relevant publication, the name of the University is required.

NOTE: The above-mentioned decision is valid for PhD students who enroll in the 2020-2021 Fall Semester and after.
