Global software giant SAP® is going to launch its University Alliances program in Turkey with Bahcesehir University.
The world’s largest business software producer SAP, head-quartered in Germany with over 47,500 employees, decided to introduce its University Alliances Program in Turkey and chose Bahcesehir University as the first member to start with. The signing ceremony will take place during the SAP University Alliances User Group Meeting at the headquarters in Walldorf, Germany in September . Bahcesehir University will use SAP software in education and research.
The SAP University Alliances Program is a global endeavor that provides university faculty members with the solutions and resources necessary to teach students how technology can enable integrated business processes and strategic thinking, and gives students the skills to add immediate value to the marketplace.
Doc. Dr. Taskin Kocak, Chairman of the Computer Engineering Department and program coordinator for Bahcesehir – SAP University Alliances Program states: “This program gives the engineering students at Bahcesehir an opportunity to learn the most significant software solutions globally at the enterprise level. Additionally, this program provides a platform to train students to become an SAP consultant, the most sought after and earning profession in the ICT field. Though, almost half of the 500 largest companies in Turkey use SAP software solutions, the number of SAP consultants is unfortunately not at the desired level. Thus, we will create new employment opportunities in this field as well.”
Caner Kaya from SAP University Alliances EMEA underlines the significance of this collaboration: “More than 1,000 universities and institutions of higher education worldwide are using SAP software in education and research. By starting our program in Turkey, we wish to give young people a future-oriented education to start a successful career. The collaboration between Bahcesehir University and SAP University Alliances comprises training of faculty members , curriculum development, and facilitation of SAP certification exams.
