International Summer/Winter Schools - Türkiye
BAU-ETSAB Winter Workshop (Spain)
Since 2014, ETSAB has been making return visits to BAU in the last week of the fall semester under the name ETSAB BAU Winter Workshop. The BAU Winter Workshop offers a very intensive five-day program. Presented each year under a different theme with a multicultural perspective, the BAU Winter Workshop is enriched with visits to museums and architectural offices as well as intercity trips. In addition to an average of 45-50 ETSAB students, the BAU winter workshops also attract students from other architecture schools in Istanbul. It is hoped that the sustainability of the winter workshops will strengthen not only the ties between BAU and UPC but also the ties between two beautiful cities, Istanbul and Barcelona.

BAU-Mukogawa University ICSA Program (Japan)
The summer school program called ICSA (Inter-Cultural Study of Architecture) is an international exchange program jointly run by Bahçeşehir University and Mukogawa University in Japan, held twice a year, once in Japan and once in Türkiye, with the aim of creating an intercultural architectural studio environment.
The ICSA in Istanbul program is held every October under the direction of ICSA coordinators Prof. Dr. Murat Dündar and Assist. Prof. Dr. Sinem Kültür, hosted by Bahçeşehir University, with the participation of 15 students and 2 faculty members from Mukogawa University. Within this program, students take part in and experience various traditional workshops, particularly in wood, glass and tile, and have the opportunity to observe on site the conservation and restoration works being carried out at Dolmabahçe Palace and Yıldız Palace. In addition to visits to important historical and touristic areas of Istanbul, the ICSA in Istanbul program includes technical day trips to Edirne, Bursa and İznik. Mukogawa University students who come to our university as part of the Conservation-Restoration graduate course observe on site the technical and scientific interventions carried out on historical buildings within the scope of cultural heritage and on the valuable furnishing elements they contain, gain experience by taking part in ongoing works, and have the opportunity to compare them with similar practices in their own country. All these activities are included in the requirements of the course at Mukogawa University, are credited, and conclude with an exhibition of student work.
