BAU IAESTE

IAESTE (International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience), a non-profit, independent and impartial technical internship exchange organization for students, was founded in 1948 at Imperial College London in the United Kingdom on the initiative of many countries. Operating today in approximately 80 countries, including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States, IAESTE offers thousands of students each year the opportunity to do internships in different countries through exchange. IAESTE A.s.b.l. is a confederation made up of national committees representing the common interests of academia, industry and university students. Today, IAESTE has an international network covering more than 4,000 students, 3,000 internship providers and 1,000 educational institutions each year.

Türkiye joined IAESTE in 1953 and became a full member in 1955. Operating in our country under the name Milletlerarası Teknik Stajyer Öğrenci Mübadelesi Birliği (International Technical Intern Student Exchange Association), IAESTE Türkiye works with the support of a national committee in which academic institutions, industrial organizations and student communities are represented.

The primary aim of IAESTE is internship exchange in technical fields, and one of its most important advantages is that it brings together students from different countries, the engineers, architects and managers of the future, fostering social and cultural sharing and closeness. By creating opportunities to get to know different countries and cultures, IAESTE also aims to contribute to personal development.

Bahçeşehir University is one of the 55 universities that are members of the IAESTE Türkiye committee and offers students of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences and the Faculty of Architecture and Design the opportunity to do international internships.
