In addition to the international summer schools abroad and international summer/winter schools in Turkey, Department of Architecture & Design offers technical trips and workshops abroad in order to enhance the cultural/visual accumulation of students. Ranging from USA to fareast, those trips equip design students with the necessary awareness of cultural differences and interactions. Furthermore, encountering various geographies, built environments and design solutions paves the way for the education of open-minded and innovative professionals.
Having Islamic style architecture together with Spanish styles of the mid-centuries and the modern experiments of 20th century, Morocco offers a rich range of visual and theoretical potential that feeds the architectural accumulation of participating students. Large courtyards adorned with charming gardens, use of geometrical patterns and bright color schemes, material and climate sensitivity and organic formation are among the most significant features of Moroccan cities.
