Durdağı Lab
At DurdağıLab, drug discovery and development studies are carried out in the fields of computational and structural biology using methods such as molecular docking, quantitative structure–activity relationship and molecular dynamics simulations.
Through both national and international collaborations, the aim is to elucidate mechanisms by providing atomic-resolution explanations for experimental studies and by stepping in where experimental tools cannot provide results or are insufficient. In this regard, the studies carried out in our laboratory include drug repurposing studies for various protein targets, particularly COVID-19 (such as MPro, BCL-2, HIV and PARP-1); investigation of the deactivation mechanisms of angiotensin receptors and homodimer/heterodimer formation at the atomic level; examination of the activation mechanisms of class B G protein-coupled receptors; and the discovery of new molecules through virtual screening methods for glioblastoma, cancer,
Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and various other diseases.
