Placement & Proficiency Exam Details (September 23, 2025)

ENGLISH PLACEMENT & PROFICIENCY EXAM INFORMATION 2025-2026

Dear Students,

Please click here to view your exam room for the English Placement Exam to be held on September 23, 2025 at BAU Future (Kemerburgaz) Campus.

Since Bahçeşehir University is an English medium educational institution, all new undergraduate students, including those who will be studying in a program where medium of instruction is not English but wish to study English, are required to take the English Placement Exam (face-to-face) on the days specified above at BAU Future Campus located in Kemerburgaz. Students who achieve a net score of 30 out of 60 in this exam will be eligible to take the English Proficiency Examination. This exam will be administered face-to-face on the days specified above at BAU Future Campus located in Kemerburgaz. In order to be exempt from the English Preparatory Program, students are required to get a minimum score of 60 (sixty) in the English Proficiency Exam. For students of the Department of English Language Teaching, Translation and Interpreting, and Faculty of Medicine, the minimum passing grade required is 80 (eighty) out of 100 (one hundred), and for students of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Dentistry, the minimum passing grade required is 70 (seventy) out of 100 (one hundred).

Students who have received a satisfactory score from one of the exams that is recognized by Bahçeşehir University as being equivalent to the Bahçeşehir University English Proficiency Examination are exempt from the English Preparatory Program. All the information regarding the exams will be available on the website of the School of Foreign Languages, under “Exam Information” before the exams (to visit the page: bit.ly/bau-prep-exam-info). You will be sent the exam information via email and/or SMS one day before the exam. Please log into your BAU email account to receive emails from the university. Please also visit the website of the School of Foreign Languages at sfl.bau.edu.tr to be informed about all aspects of the English Preparatory Program, including but not limited to education at BAU PREP, academic calendar, policies and procedures, and sample exams.

You can learn the result of your placement exam one day after the exam date on the website of the School of Foreign Languages under “Exam Results” (to visit the page: bit.ly/bau-prep-exam-result).

Important Reminders:

- Please be ready in front of your exam room at least 30 minutes before the exam.

- Please bring your student ID card or another valid ID card with a photograph such as your passport.

- Please bring pencil(s) and an eraser
