Stanford & BAU Biomechanics Research Laboratory
Established in 2013 through a partnership between the Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Medicine and the Stanford University Robotics Department, this research laboratory is the first center in Türkiye capable of real-time 3D motion analysis. In addition to ultra-high-speed 3D image analysis, it has technology that allows joint range of motion, movement symmetry, neuromuscular junction functions and electrophysiological parameters to be examined simultaneously. Turkish and American faculty members, PhD students and physiotherapists work in this laboratory as instructors and researchers. The laboratory's goals and responsibilities include:
- Motion analysis and characterization in healthy individuals and athletes
- Diagnosis of diseases associated with movement disorders
- Biomechanical performance testing of spinal and joint prostheses
- Motor analyses applied separately to each muscle group
- Joint range of motion analyses
- Neuromuscular system research in animal experiments
- Research and scientific publication in its field of study
- Student education and internships in medicine, physiotherapy, biomechanics and robotics
- Training of PhD students
