1. EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM:
1.1. GOALS OF THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM:
The educational objective of Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Medicine is to train competent physicians who will provide adequate, qualified, and reliable healthcare services to individuals and society; who protect and promote individual and public health; who apply scientific and evidence-based diagnostic and treatment methods; who are knowledgeable about the healthcare system, conditions, and characteristics of our country and act accordingly; who advocate for community and environmental health; who adopt lifelong learning, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry; who maintain their individual and professional development; who communicate effectively; who are prone to teamwork; who can follow scientific and technological advancements; who are sensitive to national and international health problems; and who are competent at both national and international levels.
1.2. OBJECTIVES OF THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM:
KNOWLEDGE
- Defines the normal structure and functions of tissues, organs, and systems in the human body.
- Explains the normal molecular, cellular, physiological, and biochemical characteristics of the human body.
- Identifies environmental, metabolic, genetic, developmental, infectious, autoimmune, and traumatic causes that may affect normal physiological structure and describes their effects on systems.
- Describes the changes caused by diseases on tissue and organ systems.
- Lists the clinical, laboratory, and imaging findings of diseases.
- Explains the principles of use of pharmacological, surgical, and other interventions used in the treatment of diseases.
- Recognizes life-threatening conditions that require emergency intervention, performs the initial intervention, and refers when necessary.
- Explains the psychological, social, cultural, and economic factors (social determinants of health) that affect human health.
- Explains the epidemiological characteristics of diseases.
- Lists preventive measures related to individual, public, occupational, and environmental health.
- Classifies healthcare systems based on the management, financing, human resources, and service delivery features of health services.
- Understands the basic principles of health economics.
- Explains the characteristics of the healthcare system and health conditions of our country.
- Defines health legislation.
- Evaluates the legal duties and responsibilities of physicians in terms of forensic medicine and health law.

SKILLS
- Clinical skills:
- Can take an adequate medical history from a patient, including the social determinants of health.
- Can perform both a general and problem-focused physical examination of the patient.
- Applies basic diagnostic methods and laboratory tests to diagnose diseases and can analyze the results.
- Keeps patient records properly, reports, and notifies when necessary.
- Can perform appropriate triage of patients.
- Can implement practices aimed at protecting and promoting individual and public health beyond diagnostic and treatment services.
- Can access up-to-date scientific knowledge necessary for professional development, evaluate it, and apply it in professional life.
- Can perform essential clinical skills (e.g., drawing blood, establishing intravenous access) at the level defined in the current National Core Education Program.
- Can identify environmental and occupational factors that pose health risks and take preventive measures.
- Can take necessary precautions to protect themselves and other healthcare workers against occupational diseases.
- Can carry out planning, crisis management, and community leadership in extraordinary situations such as earthquakes, floods, or pandemics.

- Communication skills:
- Can establish effective communication with patients and their relatives during healthcare practices.
- Can communicate effectively with people from different cultural and social backgrounds without discrimination.

2.1. GOALS OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
The research goals of Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Medicine are to conduct research—guided by science and technology—that contributes to science, humanity, and the surrounding environment, with the aim of protecting and improving individual, public, and environmental health, and to share these studies with both the scientific community and society.
2.2. OBJECTIVES OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
- To plan and conduct scientific research that contributes to humanity and the environment in accordance with ethical principles;
- To provide education for students and faculty members on fundamental topics such as research planning, scientific project development, research and publication ethics, and scientific writing, within the scope of continuous development and renewal activities;
- To strengthen the infrastructure and technical capacity necessary to support scientific research;
- To encourage students, based on volunteerism and under the guidance of advisors, to plan and conduct scientific research, and to provide suitable conditions for them to do so;
- To support the participation of students and faculty members in scientific activities;
- To advance the academic staff of the Faculty of Medicine to a leading position nationally and internationally in terms of scientific publications, projects, citations, and patents.
3. SERVICE DELIVERY
3.1. GOALS OF SERVICE DELIVERY
The service delivery goals of Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Medicine are to provide continuous, high-quality, promotive, preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative healthcare services in line with the mission and vision of our faculty, with a strong sense of social responsibility, and by utilizing up-to-date knowledge and technology.
3.2. OBJECTIVES OF SERVICE DELIVERY
- To deliver advanced healthcare services by protecting the rights of both patients and physicians through high medical technology and equipment;
- To raise awareness among healthcare professionals by focusing on local, national, and global health issues affecting the community;
- To provide healthcare services with competent professionals who prioritize education and are committed to continuous self-improvement;
- To protect the health and ensure the occupational safety of all faculty staff and students, from physicians to cleaning personnel;
- To work in close cooperation and harmony with stakeholders such as the Provincial Health Directorate, professional chambers, local governments, and non-governmental organizations.
