Neurophysiology and Behavior Research Laboratory
Electroencephalography (EEG) enables the real-time monitoring of electrical activity originating from neurons in the brain with high temporal resolution. Today, this method is widely used in many fields, including the assessment of cognitive functions, the diagnosis of certain diseases, neurorehabilitation, the development of brain–computer interfaces, neuromarketing, and even game consoles. Considering this wide range of applications, our laboratory aims to serve as a research platform open to interdisciplinary studies. In addition to EEG, projects are developed in which brain structures and dynamics are examined from multiple perspectives using functional and structural brain imaging methods.
Studies are conducted to investigate brain functions such as emotions, perception, attention, memory, decision-making, and response control through behavioral and electrophysiological approaches. In collaboration with clinical sciences such as psychiatry, neurology, and neurosurgery, research is also carried out to examine the extent of cognitive impairments observed in diseases, the sources of these impairments, and the changes occurring in brain dynamics.
