Educational Objectives
A student graduating with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics is expected to have the following knowledge and skills:
- Grasping the theories and practices of fundamental and applied mathematics
- Understanding and accessing mathematical proofs and constructing appropriate proofs, as well as defining problems, analyzing them and finding solutions based on scientific methods
- Applying mathematics to real life through an interdisciplinary approach and discovering its effective potential
- Developing oneself and acquiring the necessary knowledge to perform modeling in fields where mathematics is used
- Communicating theoretical and technical knowledge in detail to specialists and in a simple and understandable way to non-specialists
- Being familiar with the computer programs used in mathematics and using at least one of them at the European Computer Driving Licence Advanced Level
- Acting in accordance with social, scientific and ethical values at every stage of the projects one takes part in, and being able to carry out project presentations and applications within the scope of community engagement
- Effectively evaluating all processes with a universal intellectual background and having sufficient awareness of quality management
- Establishing relationships between concrete phenomena with the ability to think abstractly, conveying solutions, designing experiments, collecting data, analyzing results with scientific methods and intervening
- Being conscious of lifelong learning and ensuring its continuity by renewing the knowledge, skills and abilities acquired throughout the program
- Conducting research alone or as a member of a team, being effective at every relevant stage of a project, participating in decision-making processes, and planning and carrying out projects by using time effectively.
