Capstone Project
Why a Capstone Project?
As an outcome of engineering education, students should be able to solve and communicate a complex engineering problem in an interdisciplinary environment by creatively using the fundamental engineering principles, knowledge and skills they have acquired during their undergraduate studies. The Capstone Project is a preliminary application for engineering principles, adding value to society, focusing on innovation and putting education into practice.
Capstone Project Process
- The Capstone Project is a two-semester course that students take in their final year.
- In the first semester, Capstone I (ENM 4991), students take theoretical courses (on topics such as Team and Project Management, Engineering Design, Engineering Constraints, Innovation and Entrepreneurship).
- A midterm exam is held in the course.
- In addition to the courses, students select a project from the list of available projects and form a project team.
- At the end of the semester, the project team submits a detailed project proposal.
- In the second semester, Capstone II (ENM4992), the project team applies theoretical knowledge in practical areas, adhering to the project proposal prepared in the previous semester.
