Information Technologies and Law Clinic

The effects of developments in information technologies are becoming increasingly significant. In this context, technologies such as data processing systems, artificial intelligence applications, and blockchain models raise important legal questions. Addressing these questions requires an interdisciplinary and even transdisciplinary perspective. Within the scope of the studies of the Information Technologies and Law Clinic, this approach is adopted with the aim of organizing educational activities, events, and research focusing on technological developments that shape both our present and our future.

Gender Law Clinic

The primary focus of the BAU Gender Law Clinic is gender and all forms of discrimination based on gender. At present, there is no other law clinic in Türkiye whose main focus is gender and gender-based discrimination; in this respect, it holds the distinction of being the first law clinic in Türkiye dedicated to this field. Law clinics are essentially practice-oriented educational models developed to enable law faculty students to apply the theoretical knowledge they acquire in specific areas of law to legal practice. Through this approach, students are expected to conduct research in the relevant field of law, analyze the functioning of the judicial system, develop legal problem-solving skills, use effective communication techniques, adopt the principles of legal ethics, prepare written and oral legal opinions on relevant issues, acquire the knowledge, skills, and professional values required in their future careers. Within the activities of the BAU Gender Law Clinic, the aim is to deepen students’ knowledge of Turkish and international law in relation to the prevention of gender and gender-based discrimination. In addition, the clinic seeks to organize educational conferences, research projects, and panels together with students, and to produce content aimed at raising public awareness on these issues.
