School of Applied Sciences - Gastronomy and Culinary Arts
Gastronomy and Culinary Arts is a field of study that primarily focuses on the relationship between food and culture. Students in the Gastronomy program receive education within a comprehensive framework that includes both theoretical and practical training, such as applied culinary training as well as courses in history, culture, management, menu planning, and food photography.
The Bahçeşehir University Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Program delivers education of the highest standards through three professional training kitchens, a pastry and bakery kitchen, and a gastronomy department restaurant where students can present the skills they acquire in their courses to guests. The kitchens are equipped with modern, state-of-the-art equipment and are designed so that all students can work comfortably at their individual workstations. Housed within the BAU Culinary Arts Center, the program aims to train young professionals capable of working in every field of the food and beverage industry.
In line with the multidisciplinary nature of gastronomy, students receive education through a curriculum prepared according to the latest trends in the food and beverage sector, enabling them to have a wide range of career opportunities throughout their professional lives.
