Management and industrial engineering are like two springs that originate from the same source. They have many common points in terms of education and working areas.
The management engineer has a holistic perspective that grasps the dynamic structure in which processes expressed in concrete outputs are in mutual relation with the quantitative functions of businesses. Organizations consist of neither designing purely abstract functions nor proposals of numerical analyzes that offer purely concrete outputs. The truth requires a much more holistic view. For this reason, Management Engineering aims to bring solutions to the problems of the processes in the business world, where its quantitative elements lie, with qualitative methods and an analytical approach.
For the management engineer, business processes should be handled with a holistic perspective that extends between marketing, finance, HR-like quantitative activities and product service-like concrete outputs. Therefore, business engineers design and manage systems that balance the relationship between management and engineering disciplines, taking into account the human factor in their applications.
Industrial engineering, on the other hand, focuses more on designing and optimizing production and service systems. Qualitative components are more prominent.
The department of business educates graduates with knowledge of functions such as finance, marketing, human resources management in an organization and focuses on developing strategies for the company's continuity and growth.
The department of management engineering includes engineering discipline as well as being informed about these quantitative functions in organizations. Although the problems it deals with belong to the quantitative functions of businesses, its approach in the solution process carries the analytical and qualitative features required by engineering.
Its aim is to add a holistic perspective to the organization and the process with its systematic and analytical approach skills.
Management engineering education allows you to acquire skills in different subjects such as finance, human resources management, project management, marketing, numerical methods and entrepreneurship. Skills in both engineering and management make it easy for you to be versatile and implement ideas that are important in both academic and business life. For you, the problems are neither abstract processes nor concrete outputs. Education gives you the insight that these two elements always need to be managed consecutively and together, and that solutions are not just quantitative solutions or analytical analysis.
Our engineers who graduate from our department find the opportunity to work in all structures that include project management, quality control, human resources, accounting, finance, sales and marketing functions. In addition, they can start their own start-ups thanks to the lessons given in entrepreneurship and innovation. They can also make an academic career. There are also academicians with undergraduate education in Management Engineering in our department.
Our graduates can work anywhere, with our language of instruction being English and our educational content that follows the developments in the world.
Thanks to our project and academic oriented education system, our graduates can continue their graduate and doctorate education abroad.
