Dear Students,

Today, the most important goal of education is to help individuals become global citizens. Global citizenship requires being "intercultural", and therefore being tolerant of and respectful toward other individuals and other cultures.

Located in the very heart of Istanbul, at the crossroads of Asia and Europe, and having become a true world university by hostingstudents from 48 different countries and cultures, Bahçeşehir University takes pride in being a unique university that offers an educational environment that develops your intercultural competence and enables you to become global citizens. Among the many programs and services our school offers to help us achieve this goal, one of the most ambitious in this field is theLanguage Learning Program.

At the Bahçeşehir University School of Foreign Languages, where English is taught, our students have the opportunity to learn English in the same classrooms as students from other nations and cultures, as a requirement of our globalizing world, and to develop their intercultural competence. In addition, the most important goal of our School of Foreign Languages is to equip our studentswith the English language knowledge and skills required by higher education at international standardsand to prepare them in the best possible way for both their departments and their professional lives in line with the demands of this new world order. Furthermore, through our English Abroad Program (BESL), our students havethe chance to say "hello" to university in the United States.
