Graduate School Scholarship Opportunities

Master's Degree Scholarships
ARTICLE 18 – (1) Merit scholarships or partial scholarships:
a) BAU High Honor Scholarship: Students who graduate first in rank from Bahçeşehir University undergraduate programs and are admitted to Bahçeşehir University Master's programs with thesis are awarded a 100% scholarship, to be used once. This scholarship is valid for the maximum duration of the Master's program, provided that the student enrolls within at most 3 (three) academic years after graduating from the undergraduate program (starting from the beginning of the academic year following the year of graduation).
b) ALES, GRE, GMAT Partial Scholarship: Candidates who score 85 or above in the ALES score type relevant to the program (equal weight, quantitative or verbal), and candidates who achieve the relevant score or higher in the exams listed below, are granted a partial scholarship of 15% of the semester fee. During admission, a student may benefit from the scholarship based on only one exam score.

c) Graduation Merit Partial Scholarship for Graduates of Universities Other Than BAU: Candidates with an undergraduate graduation GPA of at least 3.50 out of 4.00 are granted a partial scholarship of 15% of the semester fee.
d) Foreign Language Achievement Partial Scholarship: Candidates who achieve scores above those listed below in one of the English language proficiency exams are granted a partial scholarship of 10% of the semester fee.

 
(2) Bahçeşehir University Alumni Partial Scholarship: Master's candidates who graduated from Bahçeşehir University undergraduate programs and are members of the Bahçeşehir University Alumni Association are granted a 50% partial scholarship on the semester fee throughout their studies, provided that they maintain their membership. Candidates may benefit from partial scholarships in this category for only one program.
(3) Public Sector Employee Partial Scholarship: Master's students working in public institutions are granted a partial scholarship of up to 50%. Personnel working in public institutions and organizations with which a cooperation protocol has been signed may be granted a scholarship or partial scholarship, limited to the quota and partial scholarship rate specified in the cooperation protocol approved by the Office of the President.
(4) CO-OP and Institutional Protocol Partial Scholarships: Employees of institutions with a CO-OP Partnership Agreement or an institutional cooperation protocol are granted a partial scholarship at the rate specified in the agreement with the institution.
(5) Staff Scholarships: Full-time employees of Bahçeşehir University who apply for a Master's program and are deemed eligible by senior management (based on merit, length of service and expected contribution to their work), with the approval of their unit manager, are granted a 100% staff scholarship on their tuition fees. Except for exceptional cases subject to the approval of the Office of the President, the staff member may not benefit from this scholarship a second time at the same level of education.
(6) Candidates who completed their undergraduate education at universities ranked in the top 400 of the THE or QS rankings in the year of their graduation are granted a 25% partial scholarship.
(7) Scholarships or Partial Scholarships for Part-Time (Hourly Paid) Lecturers: Part-time lecturers paid on an hourly basis at Bahçeşehir University who apply for a Master's program and are deemed eligible by senior management (based on merit, length of service and expected contribution to their work) are granted a 25% partial staff scholarship on their tuition fees for the semesters in which they teach at the University. Upon the recommendation of the Graduate School Administration and in line with the decision of the University Scholarship Committee, these partial scholarships may be applied as full scholarships. Except for exceptional cases subject to the approval of the Office of the President, the staff member may not benefit from this scholarship a second time at the same level of education.
   PhD Scholarships or Partial Scholarships
ARTICLE 19 – (1) Candidates who apply to Bahçeşehir University PhD programs and are admitted by meeting the minimum application requirements may apply for a scholarship. Candidates wishing to apply for a scholarship must meet at least one of the criteria in the "PhD Scholarship Candidate Evaluation Chart" (APPENDIX-2) announced by the Graduate School. The scholarship candidate applies by submitting the relevant form and supporting documents to the Graduate School. With the approval of the Graduate School Directorate, the documents and interview comments of candidates who meet the criteria are forwarded to the Scholarship Committee to be evaluated and decided upon, within the scholarship quotas, in the scholarship categories specified below.

In addition to the criteria announced by the Graduate School, candidates are also evaluated according to qualities and competencies to be determined by the committee based on their field of study.
a) Entrepreneurship Scholarship: In order to promote an entrepreneurial culture, entrepreneurial candidates who wish to conduct PhD and postdoctoral research in entrepreneurship and innovation, who have technological and innovative products or business ideas, and who believe that their product has the potential for innovative and commercial success may be evaluated within this scope.
b) Research Scholarship: Candidates are evaluated under this scholarship, which was established to support successful students who wish to pursue a PhD while working at the university's application and research centers (BETAM, MEDAM, CIFAL, etc.), in order to fulfill Bahçeşehir University's goals of focusing on excellence in education, research and contribution to society in line with its defined vision and mission, and thereby to contribute to the training of the scientists our country needs.
c) Science Scholarship: As Bahçeşehir University, with a view to realizing science and high technology, which are key concepts in the development of nations, at the highest level, candidates are evaluated in order to increase the PhD-level human resources with research capabilities and to strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation, so as to develop "Qualified Knowledge" and "Qualified Human Resources" in the fields of social sciences, health, natural sciences and education.
d) Graduation Scholarship: Candidates who completed their Master's education at universities ranked in the top 400 of the THE or QS rankings in the year of their graduation are granted a 25% scholarship.

(4) PhD candidates who graduated from Bahçeşehir University at the undergraduate and/or Master's level are granted a 50% partial scholarship on their tuition fees throughout their PhD studies.

General Conditions for Graduate Programs
ARTICLE 20 – (1) Scholarships are applied within the quotas and rates determined for the programs offered by the Bahçeşehir University Graduate School at the beginning of each academic term.
(2) Scholarships stated to be valid throughout the period of study continue as long as the maximum period of study for the relevant program specified in the legislation is not exceeded.
(3) Scholarships defined on a semester basis are valid for the period for which they are defined and are re-evaluated at the beginning of each academic semester.
(4) A student whose grounds for receiving a scholarship cease while continuing in a graduate program pays the fees for the uncompleted courses in their program, starting from the semester following the date on which those grounds ceased.
(5) For public sector employee, CO-OP and institutional protocol partial scholarships to continue, students in these categories must document their employment at the beginning of each academic term.
(6) Scholarship rates defined for graduate programs cannot be combined; the highest scholarship rate to which the student is entitled is applied.
(7) The continuation of scholarships for a student whose disciplinary penalty has become final is evaluated by the Scholarship Committee.
(8) All scholarships proposed by the Scholarship Committee under the third section are submitted to the Board of Trustees for approval.
