General Information

This guide briefly summarizes the process of Ethics Committee applications to be submitted to the Graduate School, the application steps and the points to be considered.

A properly prepared application file will ensure that the process proceeds efficiently and without unnecessary delays.

Applicants must use their official university student e-mail addresses throughout the Ethics Committee application process. Since all notifications, revision requests and approval letters will be sent to this address, students are required to monitor the process regularly via their university e-mail accounts.

Ethics Committee Application Process

• Ethics Committee applications for master's and doctoral theses are submitted to the Graduate School via the student's university e-mail address.
• The submitted application is forwarded to the relevant subcommittee for preliminary evaluation.
• If the subcommittee requests revisions, the applicant is notified via e-mail.
• After completing the required revisions, the applicant resubmits the file to the Graduate School, and the file is forwarded to the subcommittee again.
• Upon subcommittee approval, the application file is officially forwarded to the BAYEK unit through the EBYS system with an official letter.
• If the BAYEK unit requests additional revisions, the applicant is informed via e-mail. After completing the necessary revisions, the file is resubmitted to BAYEK.
• The final approval letter for the application file is prepared by BAYEK. Once the letter is received by the Graduate School, it is forwarded to the applicant's student e-mail address.

Important Information Regarding the Application Process

• Applicants must carefully review the announcements on dates and procedures published on BAYEK's website, as well as the Application Guidelines of both the Subcommittee and BAYEK.
• The application must be prepared as a single PDF file named with the applicant's full name, student number and application date.
