What is Artificial Intelligence Engineering?
Artificial Intelligence Engineering is a multidisciplinary branch of engineering that carries out systematic studies to improve solutions by using the principles and methods of artificial neural networks, machine learning and deep learning to solve problems in various disciplines, and by building the capability to develop new methods.
Who is an Artificial Intelligence Engineer?
An Artificial Intelligence Engineer is a person who develops solutions based on methods such as artificial neural networks, machine learning and deep learning, working across disciplines such as data-driven recommendation, finance, natural language processing, visual recognition and perception, smart cities, autonomous driving and medical solutions with artificial intelligence approaches.
What kind of process awaits me in the Artificial Intelligence Engineering program?
The fundamentals of software engineering are taught in the early years of the program, and students are expected to do extensive hands-on practice throughout the program. Students begin design and programming in their first years in order to develop their technical skills. In addition to technical courses, the program also includes social courses aimed at developing students' social skills and aptitude for teamwork. Through technical documentation, presentations, reports, screen evaluations and teamwork, students develop strong communication skills.
Do I need to know programming when I enter the department?
No, you do not need to know programming. The fundamentals of artificial intelligence engineering are taught in the first years of our undergraduate program. However, having some prior knowledge will be helpful in the programming courses you take in the first year.
What do I need to do to apply to your department?
To enter our department, you need to obtain a sufficient score in the YKS Numerical (SAY) score type.
Who should become an Artificial Intelligence Engineer?
Being interested in science and mathematics, open to new ideas, observant, creative, patient and open to teamwork is important in this field. As in every engineering field, analytical thinking and logical reasoning skills are expected qualities in artificial intelligence engineering as well. In addition, candidates with strong communication skills, the ability to self-reflect and persuasive abilities are well suited to Artificial Intelligence Engineering.
What is the duration of the Artificial Intelligence Engineering program?

What are the differences between Artificial Intelligence Engineering and Computer Engineering?
The two engineering fields essentially have a great deal in common. However, while Computer Engineering places more emphasis on the design and development of software that controls the hardware itself, Artificial Intelligence Engineering is more concerned with achieving more effective and successful results from outputs such as hardware and software developed in Computer, Software, Electronics and Industrial Engineering by applying artificial intelligence approaches such as artificial neural networks, machine learning and deep learning.
