Artificial Intelligence Engineering Career Opportunities
The amount of data generated in almost every sector, such as the internet, energy, telecommunications, automotive, healthcare, education, retail, security, logistics and finance, has reached enormous volumes, and this growth is expected to continue. As concepts and technologies such as the Internet of Things, cloud computing and big data analytics are rapidly adopted in the manufacturing and service sectors, processing the resulting data intelligently and creating added value from it has become one of the highest value-added areas for countries and companies. With the education they receive, Artificial Intelligence Engineering graduates will be qualified to create this added value and can be employed as engineers needed in almost every sector.
Graduates can work in areas such as machine learning, deep learning, image processing, natural language processing, data analysis, data visualization, computer games, robotics and business intelligence. Systems developed for these subfields of artificial intelligence are now being rapidly turned into products in many different sectors and have begun to replace existing systems, and research shows that this pace will keep increasing. One such study, conducted in 12 developed countries, shows that the use of artificial intelligence technologies can improve labor productivity by up to 40% and double the rate of economic growth by 2035 (Source: Accenture Report, 2018). The rapid growth of digital data in many sectors makes it essential for institutions and countries to develop artificial systems that extract meaningful information from this big data in order to hold their place in an increasingly competitive environment. Although AI-based systems are already used in many fields, particularly healthcare, public administration, automotive, finance, the defense industry and marketing, research and development continues at a fast pace so that these systems can perform their tasks as well as or better than humans.
