BAU Public Information and Accountability Policy

Purpose and Scope:
Bahçeşehir University (BAU) conducts its public information and accountability activities in line with the principles of transparency, reliability and accountability. This policy aims to ensure that accurate, complete and timely information about the University's academic, administrative, social and cultural activities is provided to the public and that the University manages its processes with an accountable approach. The policy covers all information, communication and accountability activities carried out by the University.

Principles:

1. Transparency:
   Our University takes all necessary steps to ensure that the information presented to the public is open, clear and transparent. It is essential that information is presented in a complete and understandable manner.

2. Accuracy and Reliability:
   Bahçeşehir University ensures the accuracy of the information it communicates to the public. All information and accountability processes are carefully managed to avoid providing false or misleading information. Corrections are made promptly when necessary.

3. Timely Communication:
   On all matters of public interest, information is provided in a timely and effective manner. In emergencies, a rapid communication and information strategy is followed.

4. Accountability:
   Our University is directly responsible for the use of public resources and for its activities. We support accountability by sharing the results and impacts of our activities through regular reports.

Responsibilities:

• Office of the President and General Secretariat:Responsible for the overall coordination of public information and accountability activities.
• Corporate Communications Unit and Media Monitoring Center:Prepares and publishes the University's official statements, press releases, announcements and other information activities.
• Academic Units:Ensure that information is provided and accountability is maintained regarding academic activities, projects and research.

Information and Accountability Processes:

1. Press Releases and Statements:
   Press releases are regularly published on significant developments, new projects, events and other University activities.

2. Social Media:
   Up-to-date information, event announcements and important statements are shared through the University's official social media accounts.

3. Website:
   The University's official website is the primary source containing the most up-to-date information for public information and accountability purposes.

4. Activity and Performance Reports:
   The University informs the public in line with the principle of accountability by publishing annual activity reports and performance evaluations.

5. Crisis Response:
   In extraordinary situations, a rapid and effective crisis management process is implemented. Public trust is maintained by ensuring an accurate flow of information.

Monitoring and Improvement:
This policy is reviewed and updated periodically. Information and accountability processes are improved in line with evolving communication technologies and methods.
