Vocational School of Health Services

The aim of the Vocational School of Health Services (SHMYO) isto train the qualified workforce needed by the healthcare sector in the programs we offer.

Programs and Course Contents: 

Our programs and course contents have been shaped accordingly. In addition to distinguished scientists, the academic staff includes expert, distinguished practitioners from within the sector and leading executives of the healthcare sector.

Practical Studies: 

At our University, great importance is given to practice as well as theoretical courses . Our students take the theoretical courses in their curricula at the BAU North Campus, BAU South Campus, BAU Faculty of Medicine Building and Future Campus. In addition, to develop their practical skills, they take their practical courses at the University Laboratories, Bahçeşehir University Medical Park Göztepe Hospital and the BAU Faculty of Dentistry Oral and Dental Health Center.

Practices That Distinguish BAU SHMYO from Other Universities:

Unlike those of other universities, studentsgraduatingfrom our Vocational School of Health Services can, during the practice hours of the theoretical courses in their programs, directly observe patient treatment processes in the relevant departments of the Göztepe Medical Park Hospitals, equipped with modern technology, applying the theoretical knowledge they acquire through a work-based education model, and can spend much of their time in a hospital environment until graduation. In addition to their Bahçeşehir University diploma, with the certificates theyearnthrough the training provided and that are recognized in the healthcare sector, they have thechanceto start their professional life one step ahead.

Foreign Language Education:

At SHMYO, where the language of instruction is Turkish, our students can optionally take English preparatory education and continue to receive English-supportededucationthroughout their studies.

Collaboration with Universities Abroad:

Our students can complete their preparatory education at our preparatory school in Istanbul or at our campuses abroad. To enable our students to learn English by living abroad, our University's English Preparatory School has created the BESL (Bahçeşehir English as a Second Language Abroad) program.

Opportunities in Vertical Transfer:

High scholarship opportunities are provided to our BAU SHMYO graduates who choose Bahçeşehir University's undergraduate programs based on the results of the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS).
