BAU Industrial Engineering Ph.D. students focus on designing efficient production and/or service systems and applications. Our program aims to raise graduates who wish to pursue careers in research and development in industry or academia.
Research topics of the faculty members of the Industrial Engineering Department contain areas of expertise such as large-scale optimization, inventory management and control, financial engineering, stochastic processes, product development, and engineering management. Depending on students' interests, educational programs may focus on operations research, information systems, financial engineering, or engineering management.
The first year of the doctoral program includes compulsory courses that will provide students with a strong background in optimization, stochastic processes, and experimental design. Then, with elective courses, students will focus on their interests. In doctoral theses, students apply their knowledge and experience to theoretical and/or practical problems.
