BAU 2021 - 2022 Graduate School Academic Calendar

Start of admissions and registrations of international graduate students for the fall semester of the 2021-2022 academic year. Admission, university registration and financial procedures, all visa procedures and student registrations of international students must be completed by this date, and they must have completed their registration procedures.

Submission to the Education Commission of fully completed forms for new courses planned to be offered in the fall semester of the 2021-2022 academic year. Proposals for new courses will not be considered after this date.

Last day for completing admissions to graduate programs and student registration at the University for the fall semester of the 2021-2022 academic year. Students must be entered into the system for all course registrations. Therefore, the admission and registration procedures of all Turkish and international students must be completed before course registrations begin.

Opening ceremony of the 2021-2022 academic year with the participation of all preparatory, associate, undergraduate and graduate students, their parents and other guests. Time: 15:00. Venue to be announced according to the program.

Online project, thesis and seminar registration for graduate students who have reached the course, project, thesis and seminar stage. Students who do not register for any project, thesis or seminar during the regular registration period cannot register during or after the ADD-DROP week.

ADD-DROP week. Graduate students who were unable to register for courses for a serious reason during the course registration period of 11-15 October 2021 apply to their own unit (Graduate Schools), attaching their supporting documents. For those whose reasons are found serious and accepted, information is sent by e-mail to the Department of Financial Affairs so that their system can be opened. Provided that students whose reasons are accepted fulfill their financial obligations between 18-22 October 2021, the course registration system is opened during the ADD-DROP period, and the student is responsible for completing their own online course registration during the ADD-DROP period. Manual registration by petition is not possible. Paying the fee alone does not mean that course registration is complete. A student who pays the registration fee but does not register for courses online is considered not to have registered for courses that semester. Courses such as project and thesis must also be registered in the same period. After completing your registration, you must log in to your system and check which courses you have registered for. Courses dropped after this date fall under course withdrawal.

Elective courses that do not have enough students registered during the ADD-DROP week will be closed on Wednesday, 27 October 2021 (at 13:00). Courses with insufficient enrollment will be removed from the schedules of the students who selected them. Graduate students registered in closed courses must select other courses by 20:59 on Saturday, 30 October 2021. Elective course selection will not be possible after this date; the system will be closed and no manual assignments will be made. Students whose courses are dropped will be informed by SMS, but it is the student's responsibility to check the courses they have taken in the system on Wednesday, 27 October 2021 and whether any course has been dropped.

After this date, letters of acceptance cannot be sent to international students admitted to graduate programs for the spring semester of the 2021-2022 academic year who require a visa; they may be sent to students who do not require a visa. Admission, university registration and financial procedures must be completed by Friday, 18 February 2022. All visa procedures and student registrations of international students must be completed by this date. Students who do not complete their procedures by this date cannot be admitted for the spring semester.

Early final exam dates for students who came to our University through Erasmus, World Exchange or other means and for our students who will go abroad under the same programs. The departure of students taking these exams must be confirmed and proven with a document from their institution. This exam is not given to every student going abroad. It is given only due to conflicts in education dates. A list on this matter must be submitted to the Office of the President by the International Academic Relations and Programs Unit by Monday, 27 December 2021 at the latest.

Course registration for graduate students taking courses in summer school. There is no ADD-DROP period in summer school. Withdrawal from a registered course is not possible. After selecting courses and starting classes, it is not possible to withdraw from a course or add a new one. Courses of students who have not paid their fees are dropped within the first week after classes begin, and courses that do not meet the requirements are closed. No load or payment applies to theses and projects.

Dropping of courses of students who have not completed their summer school financial procedures and closing of courses that do not meet the requirements. Sending SMS messages to students about closed and dropped courses. After this date, it is not possible to register for courses or complete financial procedures. Students may register for a new course only because of closed courses. On this date, students should check the system and review the courses they have taken.
