The mission of the English Preparatory Program is to prepare students for studies in their departments, equipping them with the skills and strategies of the English language required for higher education at international standards, and to provide our students, teachers and community at large with opportunities to foster learning throughout their lives.
Since Bahçeşehir University instructs in English, each student who scores the required grade in the ÖSS exam (national university entrance exam) must sit the English Proficiency Exam upon registering at Bahçeşehir University, or, alternatively, take one of the internationally compatible tests, such as:
Faculty Students:
Bahçeşehir University English Proficiency Exam: 60%
TOEFL (computer-based): 203
TOEFL (internet-based): 74
TOEFL (paper-based): 537
FCE: B
American Culture & Literature Students:

Vocational School Students:

Those who can certify that they have passed one of the above tests can become eligible to begin their fırst year program at the beginning of the term. However, if they take these exams later in the year, students must wait for the next academic year before they can begin their first year studies.
Students who fail to receive a passing grade on the proficiency test are required to take a placement test to be placed into preparatory programs according to their level of English.
