Message from the Director

The Human Rights and Research Center was formally established with the publication of its regulation in the Official Gazette on October 22, 2022. As stated in Article 5 of the Regulation, the Center’s mission can be summarized as contributing to the recognition, protection, implementation, and advancement of human rights and freedoms; conducting both theoretical and practice-oriented research; and organizing educational activities. Naturally, achieving these goals would not be possible without broad participation and contributions. The establishment of a website for the Center is regarded as a first step toward the commencement of its activities. Yet even a long journey begins with a single step. Through this first step, we can share information, views, and suggestions; keep you informed about our activities; and communicate developments in the field of human rights. I hope that, following this initial step, our journey toward institutionalization will gain momentum and that we will be able to create an effective and collaborative human rights website.
