Internship
Internship Procedure:
Biomedical Engineering students must complete an educational internship at a hospital, health institution, or a company operating in the field of Biomedical Engineering at least once and for twenty working days during their undergraduate program.
The steps you need to follow during the internship for foreign students who want to do their internships in Turkey are as follows:
• Search for the company/institution/hospital where the internship will take place
• Apply to the company/institution/hospital where the internship will be done
• Determine the dates that you will do your internship (The minimum required duration is 20 WORKING DAYS, where Saturdays, Sundays, and National Holidays are not included)
• Fill out the documents of the internship and get them signed by the Department Coordinator of Internships Asst. Prof. Canan Bağcı ([email protected]; Office D-438).
• Apply for the “Work Exemption Permit” on the e-Devlet website.
• The evaluation of the application takes approximately 2 months. So, you have to start the procedure at least 3 months before your internship dates.
• After your work exemption permit is approved by the government, submit the approved documents to Bahçeşehir University Personnel Department for internship insurance procedures.
The documents requested by the Personnel Department for insurance procedures are as follows:
1. DOCUMENT NO 1: Internship Petition (signed and stamped from the company/institution/hospital)
2. DOCUMENT NO 2: Commitment paper about receiving/not receiving health care
3. Copy of identity card
4. 1 place of residence paper or one invoice registered to the residence or name
5. 1 photo
6. Document No 3: Internship Form
• Submit 1 Insurance Initial Document (to be prepared by the Personnel Department), 1 Internship Form (DOCUMENT NO 3), and 1 Internship Registry Document (DOCUMENT NO 4) to the relevant units within the company/institution/hospital following the completion of the insurance initiation procedures
• Complete the internship during the defined insurance period, provided that it is at least 20 working days
• Fill out the Internship Report (DOCUMENT NO 5) properly. Each page of the Internship Report MUST be signed and stamped by the company/institution/hospital.
• Receive the Internship Registry Document (DOCUMENT NO 4) signed and stamped by the company/institution/hospital
• Deliver the Internship Report (DOCUMENT NO 5) and Internship Registry Document (DOCUMENT NO 4) to the department internship coordinator

Internship in a foreign country:
• Search for the company/institution/hospital where the internship will take place

• Fill the Internship Form_ENG and get signed by the Department Coordinator of Internships Assist. Prof. Canan Bağcı
• Complete the internship during the defined insurance period, for at least 20 working days
• Fill the Internship Report_ENG properly. Each page of the Internship Report MUST be signed and stamped by the company/institution/hospital.
• Receive the Internship Evaluation Form_ENG signed and stamped from the company/institution/hospital
