For a compulsory internship, the student must have a minimum ECTS class level of 3; for a voluntary internship, the minimum required level is 2. (For voluntary internships, Document No. 9 is used instead of Document No. 3, and submission of Document No. 4 and Document No. 5 is not mandatory. A voluntary internship cannot replace a compulsory internship.)
During the undergraduate program, Biomedical Engineering students are required to complete at least one internship of at least 20 working days in a hospital, healthcare institution, or a company operating in the field of Biomedical Engineering.
The internship stages and the steps you need to follow are as follows:

Complete the internship during the defined insurance period, provided that it is at least 20 working days.
Fill out the Internship Report (DOCUMENT NO. 5) properly. Every page of the report to be submitted after the internship must bear the wet signature and stamp of the company/institution/hospital.
Receive the wet-signed and stamped Internship Evaluation Form (DOCUMENT NO. 4) from the company/institution/hospital where the internship was completed.
Submit the Internship Report (DOCUMENT NO. 5) and the Internship Evaluation Form (DOCUMENT NO. 4) by hand to the department internship coordinator.

Research the company/institution/hospital where the internship will be carried out.
Apply individually to the company/institution/hospital where the internship will be carried out, and obtain the signed and stamped Internship Petition (DOCUMENT NO. 1) prepared by the company/institution/hospital, as well as the signed and stamped Work Permit Exemption Form (DOCUMENT NO. 6).
Obtain the signed Compulsory Internship Form (DOCUMENT NO. 3) from the department internship coordinator (this document cannot be obtained by email).
Submit DOCUMENT NO. 6 and DOCUMENT NO. 3 to the department secretary via EBYS in order to initiate the work permit process, and receive the QR-coded Work Permit Exemption Internship Agreement Form (DOCUMENT NO. 7) (it is sent directly to the student by email within approximately 2 weeks).
Apply for the Work Permit Exemption for Foreigners (DOCUMENT NO. 8) through the “Apply for work permit exemption” step at https://emuafiyet.csgb.gov.tr/welcome.
Required documents include: personal information, passport information, DOCUMENT NO. 3, DOCUMENT NO. 7, and a student certificate.
This document is sent to the student’s email address in approximately 2–3 weeks.
Submit DOCUMENT NO. 8 to the BAU Personnel Department.
After the insurance activation procedures are completed, submit the following to the relevant unit within the company/institution/hospital where the internship will be carried out:
1 Insurance Start Certificate (to be prepared by the Personnel Department)
Complete the internship during the defined insurance period, provided that it is at least 20 working days.
Fill out the Internship Report (DOCUMENT NO. 5) properly. Every page of the report to be submitted after the internship must bear the wet signature and stamp of the company/institution/hospital.
Receive the wet-signed and stamped Internship Evaluation Form (DOCUMENT NO. 4) from the company/institution/hospital where the internship was completed.
Submit the Internship Report (DOCUMENT NO. 5) and the Internship Evaluation Form (DOCUMENT NO. 4) by hand to the department internship coordinator.
