English Language Teaching
The primary objective of the Department of Foreign Language Education is to train teachers who have developed language proficiency, acquired knowledge and skills in language education, and aim to conduct research and improve themselves in order to meet the requirements of globalization. Currently, the department offers only the English Language Teaching Bachelor's Program in the English Language Education Division. The English Language Teaching undergraduate program consists of courses that aim to develop teacher candidates in the most equipped way in line with the requirements of the age, with both theoretical and practical courses such as foreign language teaching methods, teaching language skills, the use of technology in language teaching, and teaching practice courses in selected schools. Additionally, through general electives, departmental electives, and non-departmental electives, students are provided with opportunities to develop themselves in social, cultural, and professional areas aligned with their individual interests.
Furthermore, the Department of English Language Teaching cooperates with the Graduate School in conducting graduate programs leading to MA and PhD degrees in English Language Education.
Mission
The primary objective of the Bahçeşehir University English Language Teaching undergraduate program is to educate English language teachers who are committed to the principles of Atatürk within the framework of the national and international education policies of the Republic of Türkiye; who can use a foreign language effectively; who adopt high-quality and contemporary education as a guiding principle; who possess strong knowledge of current approaches and methods in foreign language education; who are capable of planning and implementing teaching and learning processes in accordance with modern pedagogical practices; and who remain open to continuous professional growth through a strong research orientation.
Vision
In line with the fundamental goals of the Bahçeşehir University English Language Teaching undergraduate program, we aim to educate English language teachers who make effective use of technology and demonstrate a strong commitment to the teaching profession. Within the framework of school–university collaboration, we seek to provide teacher candidates with extensive opportunities to gain practical experience and engage directly with school environments. In addition, with the support of our academic staff—who actively conduct research and disseminate their scholarly work internationally—we aim to provide academic support within the scope of in-service teacher education to teachers and administrators working at different educational levels, in accordance with the areas of expertise of our faculty members.

Career Opportunities
Graduates of the Department of Foreign Language Education may work as English language teachers in public schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, private schools, and private language institutions. They may also work as instructors in university preparatory programs or schools of foreign languages.
In addition, thanks to their language proficiency and pedagogical expertise, graduates have opportunities to pursue careers in fields such as translation, instructional materials development, educational technologies, assessment and evaluation, and academic research.
