Disabled Students Unit - Projects and Activities

 DISABLED STUDENTS UNIT ACTIVITIES, 2010-2011 ACADEMIC YEAR

1. Our unit staff members Assist. Prof. Dr. Nesrin Özdemir and Specialist Pınar Bayram participated in the "Regional Disabled Students Unit Representatives" Workshop held at Bursa Uludağ University on 29-30 September 2011, after which a report was prepared.

1. Our unit staff member Assist. Prof. Dr. Nesrin Özdemir participated in and gave a presentation at the Federation of the Blind's "International Symposium on the Vocational Training of Blind and Visually Impaired Women" held in Ankara on 13-14-15 October 2011.

1. Our unit staff members Assist. Prof. Dr. Nesrin Özdemir and Specialist Pınar Bayram, together with 50 of our students, participated in the "World Disability Union Congress and Universal Design Workshop" organized by the World Disability Foundation on 22-23 October 2011.

1. The "International Disability Film Festival" was organized on 3-4-5 December 2011 in collaboration with Barikat Film, Birand Yapım, the Disabled Students Unit and the Faculty of Communication.
    
2. In the 2011-2012 academic year, 2nd-year students of the Computer Education and Instructional Technologies Teaching program of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Bahçeşehir University provided basic computer training, accompanied by theoretical courses and supervision, to individuals with disabilities from families working at the Istanbul Provincial Police Department.
