About the Global Media School Project
The Global Media School (GMS) was established by the Global Journalists Council (GJC) under the umbrella of BAUKEM to provide training in new media to undergraduate and graduate students of communication faculties and to communication sector professionals aged 25-40.
The one-month training consists of innovative and hands-on course content in areas such as reporting, specialized journalism, new media, camera operation, directing, photography and editing. In the training, which will begin in April in Istanbul, students will gain theoretical and practical knowledge in every area of media, from the camera to editing and from shooting techniques to news writing. With an innovative perspective, participants will have the opportunity to decode new media through course content such as podcast journalism, mobile journalism, and still and moving image technologies. At the end of the training, students who rank highest based on the instructors' evaluations and the competitions held will take their first step into the sector with internships at major media organizations and mentorship from experts in the field.
