It is aimed that students in the Department of Oral, Dental, and Maxillofacial Radiology; will gain the competencies of taking a patient’s history, will be applying and interpreting examination and radiographic techniques for the diagnosis of oral and dental diseases, and reach the correct diagnosis with the obtained information. In addition, it is aimed for our students to be knowledgeable and conscious about the radiation doses used for diagnostic purposes in Dentistry and about the biological effects of radiation and the rational use of radiation sources, to inform patients correctly, and to protect themselves, their staff and patients from the harmful effects of radiation.
After their graduation Dentistry students who want to continue their education in the Department of Oral, Dental, and Maxillofacial Radiology can apply to the related programs in the Graduate Schools or be placed in the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Specialization programs by taking the Specialization in Dentistry exam (DUS) Our colleagues who have the title of Doctor of Science or Specialist Dentist can serve in private or public health institutions or continue their careers as academicians within universities.
