Data produced in almost every sector such as internet, energy, telecommunications, automotive, health, education, retail, security, education, logistics, finance has reached huge amounts and this increase is expected to continue. Intelligent processing of data obtained through the rapid implementation of concepts and technologies such as the internet of things, cloud computing, big data analytics and production and service sectors, and generating surplus value from related data are among the highest value-added topics for countries and companies. Artificial Intelligence Engineering graduates will be qualified to produce this surplus value with the education they will receive and they can be employed as engineers needed in almost all sectors.
Graduates can work in fields such as machine learning, deep learning, image processing, natural language processing, data analysis, data visualization, computer games, robotics, business intelligence. Systems developed for these subfields of artificial intelligence studies have been rapidly replaced by existing systems in many different sectors and research shows that this speed will continue to increase. In one of these studies, a study conducted in 12 developed countries reveals that by using artificial intelligence technologies, business efficiency can be improved up to 40% and by these studies, economic growth rate can be doubled by 2035 (Source: Accenture Report, 2018). The rapid increase in the amount of digital data in many sectors necessitates institutions and countries to take their place in an increasingly competitive environment by developing artificial systems that extract meaningful information from this big data. Although artificial intelligence-based systems have been used in many areas such as health services, state management, automotive, finance, defense industry and marketing, research and development studies are continuing rapidly in order for the systems used to perform related tasks equivalent to or better than human.
