BAUMUS Board member Dr. Arzu Karakulak's research project "The Pandemic-Prejudice Link: Understanding How and When the COVID-19 Threat Causes Bias Against Refugees" was awarded the 2021/2022 Mercator-IPC Research Fellowship.

Our first face-to-face event after the pandemic, "Italian Migration Policy: Assessing The Pre- and Post-Covid Period" was held on June 3 with the moderation of Prof. Ulaş Sunata and the participation of guest speakers, Prof. Selcen Öner and Angela Ziccardi.

The online conference titled "Brain Drain and Reverse Brain Drain" was organized by the Social Democracy Foundation (SODEV) on the evening of March 23 with the participation of BAUMUS founding director Prof. Dr. Ulaş Sunata.

The article titled “Feminization of Refugee: Intersectionality, Solidarity, Resistance” was written by the founding director of BAUMUS Prof. Dr. Ulaş Sunata and BAUMUS student assistant Selin Özsoy within the framework of migration and gender studies and it has been published in International Migration journal!

The article titled "Legal Gender Recognition in Turkey" emerged as a result of the collaborative work of BAUMUS’ founding director Prof. Dr. Ulaş Sunata and his colleagues in the field of law Prof. Dr. Aslı Makaracı and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seda Öktem Çevik. It was published in one of the world's leading journals, the International Journal of Discrimination and the Law.

The meeting of Bahçeşehir University Migration Studies graduate program took place on Saturday, November 27th. The Migration Studies program, which started its classes during the pandemic, came together with its old and new students and trainers to both meet and socialize.
