BAU and HUAWEI Collaboration Expands One Step Further with Cloud Services
"Huawei Connect," one of the international events Huawei organizes every year, was held in Paris on 17 October this year. At the event, held under the theme "Unleash Digital," a new cooperation agreement was signed between Bahçeşehir University and Huawei Türkiye. Commenting on the agreement, BAU Global Chair Enver Yücel said: "Cloud communication systems are a very important matter for the whole world, universities and large companies to store and process their data. Together with Huawei, we will provide the basic training for this in Türkiye."
Bahçeşehir University Becomes One of the First Educational Institutions Integrated into the Digital Environment
In line with this agreement, Huawei will ensure that the data of the Bahçeşehir Education Group is kept in Türkiye, first through the "Public Cloud" service it will provide at the Bahçeşehir University Future Campus. With the signed protocol, Bahçeşehir University will also become the first university to receive public cloud services from a local cloud service provider operating in Türkiye. With this agreement, Bahçeşehir University, one of the first educational institutions integrated into the digital environment, will manage all its data through the Huawei CLOUD service. Through the training it will receive from Huawei on cloud products and cloud technologies, Bahçeşehir University will also hold an important certification in this field. Within the framework of the cooperation between the two institutions, several different technologies are planned to be used together, including storage and network technologies, as well as relational database services and big data.
"We Will Introduce Our Products to the Whole World Through Huawei Technology"
Before the signing of the bilateral cooperation, BAU President Prof. Dr. Şirin Karadeniz gave a presentation on the project to be signed. BAU Global Chair Enver Yücel and a Huawei official then signed the bilateral cooperation agreement. Stating that Bahçeşehir University and Huawei have carried out many joint projects to date within the framework of the "Huawei & BAU Learning Platform" protocol signed in March, BAU Global Chair Enver Yücel said: "Today we have signed an important agreement in Paris. Huawei is one of the largest technology companies in the world, and Bahçeşehir University and Bahçeşehir Education Institutions hold an important position in educational technologies in Türkiye. We strive to bring every kind of innovation to our country quickly. Our own colleagues have produced very important educational materials. We want to open these not only to Türkiye but to the world. In opening them to the world, we have chosen Huawei as our partner. We will introduce our products to the whole world through Huawei technology."
"We Will Train One Hundred Thousand Cloud Engineers"
BAU Global Chair Enver Yücel also commented on the details of the agreement: "We previously held a technology summit with Huawei in Türkiye. Today we are making a new agreement here. Cloud communication systems are a very important matter for the whole world, universities and large companies to store and process their data. Together with Huawei, we will provide the basic training for this in Türkiye. In this context, considering that Türkiye will need one hundred thousand cloud engineers in the future, we are also investing in this. We are not alone in making this investment; Huawei is with us. We will also follow developments in this field around the world very closely through scientific research. That is why we are happy to have brought another fine cooperation to our country."
Cooperation in Different Fields with the Huawei & BAU Learning Platform
Having decided to work together in fields such as health, education and agriculture, the two institutions focus on developing educational integrations and innovative solutions in areas such as 5G, big data and the Internet of Things. Most recently, in September, Bahçeşehir University renewed the internet infrastructure of the BAU Future Campus with Wi-Fi 6 connectivity developed by Huawei. With this project, approximately 2,500 students, as well as the administrative staff and academics working on campus, have been able to benefit from high-speed internet. During the project, BAU Global Education Institutions will also use various PaaS technologies from Huawei Cloud Computing, such as relational database services and big data, in addition to storage and network technologies.
