İnfo Yatırım, a group company of Hedef Holding, an investment group pioneering in finance and technology in Türkiye with the vision of "investing in the right companies at the right time," brings startups and projects in need of funding together with investors and, through its digital platform Startup Burada, applies its industry experience to "crowdfunding," one of the new financing methods, creating development opportunities for startups and projects.
On the "Startup Burada" platform, managed with the quarter-century experience of İnfo Yatırım, the first non-bank intermediary institution licensed by the Capital Markets Board (SPK) for crowdfunding as a broadly authorized intermediary, startups are given a ground to introduce themselves and find funding at the project stage, while investors are given the opportunity to confidently become partners in promising, innovative and original projects at an early stage.
First campaign targets TRY 2.8 million in funding, including additional funding
The egaranti startup, whose application offers companies cloud-based electronic warranty certificate solutions and enables consumers to manage their warranty processes from a single panel, aims to raise TRY 2,333,000 in its first seed investment round with Startup Burada. Aiming to complete the campaign at TRY 2.8 million with 20 percent additional funding, egaranti is offering 11.2 percent of its company shares in return for this funding. egaranti, which will also offer investors 20 percent bonus shares during the first 10 days of the campaign, is starting a 60-day campaign period as of 27 June.
egaranti targets 300,000 users by the end of 2022
BAU HUB Incubation Center startup "egaranti"operates on a technological infrastructure that enables warranty certificates to be created electronically in a form suited to the manufacturer's processes and makes after-sales management easier for both manufacturers and consumers. Founded in November 2021 by Kamil Kınacı, Sinan Peksoy and Faruk Yılmaz with the support of the BAUBİGG Program and BAU Hub, the startup is currently run by a team of seven.
Providing information about egaranti, co-founder Kamil Kınacı said: "Companies that easily integrate with the API-based platform can manage their warranty processes and related data end to end. In addition to these features, there are many extra features such as store/dealer management and marketplace integrations. On the egaranti platform, whose first closed beta version we released in March, we work with five manufacturers, including Monster Notebook. On egaranti, which we continue to develop based on user feedback, we have so far delivered warranty data to more than 3,000 users."
Generating revenue through a credit model per warranty certificate transfer, egaranti offers its service completely free of charge for the first 1,000 data transfers. Having been awarded TÜBİTAK 1512 BİGG support worth TRY 200,000 last November with the support of the BAU Hub Incubation Center, the startup is also part of the 7th term of the Lonca Entrepreneurship Center and the Startup Wise Guys pre-acceleration program. In 2022, egaranti aims to sign agreements with 10 companies, deliver warranty data to 300,000 users and complete all the integrations required for the entire process.
"We will bring original projects together with visionary investors"
Stating that, in a globalized world, Startup Burada takes pride in being part of every start-up it can support, Startup Burada Investment Committee Member Kerem Özten said: "With the Startup Burada Equity-Based Crowdfunding Platform, we bring together entrepreneurs with original projects and investors who can support these projects so that their new ideas and ventures can come to life. With İnfo Yatırım's quarter-century experience in the capital markets, we find promising projects and present them to our investors. In this sense, we are running our first crowdfunding campaign with egaranti. With Startup Burada, entrepreneurs find support for their ventures, while investors can become partners in the big companies of the future. Moreover, while investing their savings, they can carry out their transactions securely through the Central Securities Depository (MKK) and Takasbank. This is also a very important opportunity for our country."
"We offer investors an alternative investment option"
Pointing out that there are more than 2,000 crowdfunding platforms in the world today and that their number is growing rapidly, Özten said: "When the big companies of the future were looking for early-stage investment, their alternatives were limited to angel investors, large funds, and venture and risk capital companies. At the same time, before the equity-based crowdfunding system, the public could not invest in the startup ecosystem or become partners in these ventures. In the new system, however, with the equity-based crowdfunding license we received from the SPK, we are spreading innovative ventures to a wider base while also offering our investors an alternative investment option such as crowdfunding. Last year, approximately 6.5 million crowdfunding campaigns were organized worldwide. The volume of the sector exceeded expectations, reaching 100 billion dollars, and more than 300,000 new businesses emerged from funded campaigns. The number of campaigns is expected to exceed 12 million by 2023. The crowdfunding market is projected to reach 300 billion dollars by 2030, but these figures are also changing very quickly."
