Dean of Faculty of Medicine Prof.Dr. Türker Kılıç was elected as a member of the most prestigious science Academy “The World Academy of Art and Science” which its founding fathers include the famous theoretical physicist Albert Einstein, Bertrand Russell who is one of the greatest mathematicians and philosophers of the 20th century, and Joseph Needham who is one of the greatest historians of science and civilization.
We congratulate the Dean of The Faculty of Medicine in our university Prof. Dr. Türker Kılıç, who was nominated from “European Science and Art Academy” and became the first Turk to be chosen as a member of “The World Academy of Art and Science” He made his name known in the field of international medicine with his studies in the field of neurosurgery and is considered one of the most important neurosurgeons in Turkey.

Our rector Prof.Dr.Şirin Karadeniz, congratulated Prof.Dr.Türker Kılıç for being elected as a member of the World Academy of Art and Science. BAU Global President Mr. Enver Yücel emphasized the value of unity of science and art. Istinye University Chairman of the Board of Trustees Muharrem Usta thanked Prof. Dr. Türker Kılıç for his contributions to science.
About “The World Academy of Art and Science”
The World Academy of Arts and Sciences is an international scientific organization that was founded in Geneva in 1960 and registered in the state of California, USA, consisting of more than 700 individual scholars from more than 80 countries. Members are selected for outstanding achievements in the sciences, arts, and humanities. Among its members who signed the founding agreement; While Nobel Prize-winning thinkers such as Earl Bertrand Russell, Lord John Boyd Orr, Hermann Joseph Muller, Harol Urey, and scientists such as violinist Yehudi Menuhin and Philip Noel-Baker was involved, world-famous physicist Albert Einstein also took part in the preparatory work. The motto of the academy is stated in Albert Einstein's sentence: "The inventions of our mind should be a favor to humanity, not a disaster". In 2013, WAAS launched the World University Consortium. Among the programs of WAAS; the abolition of nuclear weapons, the issue of global employment, higher education/training on a global scale, the development of individuality, the formulation of a human-centered new economic theory, the limits of rationality, and methods of acquiring knowledge.
