Logistics Management
Driven by rapid change and the effects of globalization, today's businesses need an excellent distribution network to stay one step ahead in both local and international markets within an increasingly competitive business environment. Rapid advances in information technology have not only accelerated business processes but also transformed customers. Today's market means customers who demand more and are less patient. To survive in such a challenging environment, concepts such as Logistics and Logistics Management are becoming increasingly important. Logistics comes into play in all management and shipment activities within the supply chain, from the sourcing of raw materials to the production environment, and from the completion of the final product to distribution channels and the customer.
Program Objective
The objective of the Logistics Management program is to train qualified professionals who can adapt to the changing and evolving conditions of logistics in Türkiye and around the world.
Program Structure
To graduate from Bahçeşehir University, students must complete a course load of 130 credits/240 ECTS. During the first two years, our students take the required core courses (such as economics, accounting, statistics and mathematics). All courses in the first two years are compulsory. Starting from the third year, students begin taking elective courses in addition to the compulsory courses required for this field. The elective courses in the third year are General Elective courses, designed to broaden the student's worldview and provide additional skills (such as foreign languages, philosophy, history and music). Students may also choose to take COOP courses taught by industry professionals as electives.
Program Mission
To create international experience and employment opportunities for our students through a faculty that follows the trends and technological developments shaping the future of the logistics sector.
Program Goals
The Logistics Management Program trains individuals with the ability to analyze, make decisions and generate solutions. Our graduates are also sensitive to the social, economic and environmental sustainability value of their decisions; they have strong technological awareness and communication skills and are conscious of their responsibility to the society they live in. They understand the value of entrepreneurial courage as much as scientific knowledge, as well as the methods for putting ideas into practice.
They know that logistics is a common field of engineering (industrial, business, mathematics, software), law and management sciences, and have sufficient domain knowledge to solve shared problems with colleagues from these disciplines.
They can assess the social, economic and environmental sustainability value of a proposed logistics solution.
They can develop solutions knowing that operational capabilities are as important as managerial skills in analysis and problem identification.
