PSY5005 Research Methods and Statistics I
The objective of this course will be to provide students with an in-depth understanding of advance regression methods. Topics will include simple linear regression, multiple linear regression, interactions, categorical and continuous variables and related topics. Student will able to determine which regression analysis to perform; setup the analysis in SPSS and run it; understand and interpret the results; and draw the implications for the research problem.

CPSY5081 Adult Psychopathology
Based on international classification systems (DSM/ICD), mental and behavioral disorders will be studied interms of: historical perspective; contemporary theories of abnormality; assessment and diagnosis; symptoms-prevalence, etiology and treatment. Recent research findings influencing diagnosis and treatment in clinical practice will be covered comprehesively.
CPSY5041 Clinical Assessment
The objective of this course is to provide some of the basic skills as to application, scoring, assessment, interpretation and reporting of particular test results, developed for adults. The students will learn these skills under supervision.
CPSY5031 Psychotherapy I
The objective of this course will be to provide students with an in-depth understanding of various psychotherapeutic approaches; and some of the basic skills related to interviewing; evaluation, case formulation; and treatment planning.
CPSY5072 Ethics
Clinical psychologist while maintaining a close, yet professionally distant relationship with clients face in daily practice a lot of ethical dilemmas. In this course the students will focus on to concepts such as moral reasoning, values, and professional ethics which are basic to ethical behavior. After being introduced to APA and EFPA Meta codes as world-wide known codes, the students will be encouraged to learn about the development process of Turkish ethics code thoroughly. With the help of various case vignettes, they will be able to understand the basic steps of ethical decision making process and the procedures to be followed on the association level after determining ethical violations.
CPSY5042 Diagnostic Interview-I
The objective of this course is to provide some of the basic skills regarding principles of observation and interviewing techniques; communication sklills; active listening; evaluation of non-verbal cues; explanatory statements; questioning techniques; diagnostic formulation and report writing through the first interview with at least one client.
CPSY5082 Child and Adolescent Psychopathology
The aim of this course is to introduce students the classification and etiology of disorders primarily seen during childhood and adolescence especially through DSM IV?TR. Participants of the course will be provided information on clinical assessment and treatment techniques while working with children or adolescents as well as their families. Prevention program examples will be covered too.

The aim of this supervision course is to examine various techniques through the application of a given psychotherapeutic approach, application of basic theoretical background to various psychological deficits, assessment of therapeutic efficacy; presentation of cases and discussion of problems faced during therapy under group supervision. Students are expected to be to improve the interviewing, evaluation, formulation and planning skills by conducting a psychotherapeutic process.
