General Education
The General Education Department conducts the coordination and application of interdisciplinary courses which are designed to raise individuals who are productive members of society, inquisitive, able to understand life different perspectives, conscious of the world around them, and well-educated and equipped to work in any field.
Students are expected to:
- have a strong historical knowledge
- be knowledgeable about art and culture,
- be able to speak a second foreign language other than English,
- possess knowledge about the intercultural and international world,
- be fluent and skillful in Turkish.
Courses within the General Education Program enrich students’ knowledge in various areas of study while forming an infrastructure which allows them to improve their critical analysis skills. The program also aims to teach them to present their thoughts and ideas clearly orally and in writing.
On the other hand, General Education classes encourage students to foster scholarly communication and exchange mutual knowledge by combining students from different academic programs together. The Program allows the students to meet students from other disciplines and become accustomed to a wide range of cultures and knowledge.
