Psychological Counseling and Guidance Center - Individual Psychological Counseling
Taking into account the person's needs and preferences, the type of work appropriate for the applicant is decided during the initial consultation.
Individual Psychological Counseling
The individual psychological counseling process offers the person an opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of their emotions and thoughts and of their effects on behaviors and choices.
By developing students' personal, social and academic skills, they are helped to overcome the difficulties they face more easily. In the counseling process, the person and the psychologist work together to examine the difficulties and problems experienced in a safe and confidential environment. The specialists working at PDRM are impartial; they simply try to understand the individual and their situation as well as possible. In this sense, the individual psychological counseling process is a professional collaboration carried out by the student and the specialist together to identify personal problems and then reach the goals jointly set in the subsequent process.
The Psychological Counseling and Guidance Center supports students on many personal and relational issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, family and peer relationships, loneliness, academic concerns, adjustment problems, decision-making difficulties, conflicting thoughts and addiction. If you wish, you can also benefit from the individual psychological counseling service, which helps you get to know yourself better and better understand the difficulties you are experiencing.
In individual psychological counseling, sessions lasting 30-50 minutes are usually scheduled once a week, but depending on the nature of the problem they can also be held every two weeks or once a month. You can decide on the timing and frequency of the sessions and how many weeks they will last together with your counselor.
