Department of Urology

The Department of Urology was established within Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Medicine and, as of 2022, serves with five faculty members under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Murat Binbay. The faculty members include one professor, two associate professors and two assistant professors. Theoretical courses are delivered at Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Medicine on the Göztepe campus, while practical training is provided at Göztepe Medical Park, Maltepe Medical Park and Şişli Memorial hospitals. In this practical training, students are taught the approach to patients presenting to the outpatient clinic with urological complaints and the urological surgical methods applied. In theoretical courses, uro-oncology, andrology, infertility, pediatric urology, endourology and general urology are taught by our academics who are experts in their fields. In addition, diseases frequently encountered in daily urology practice, such as prostate diseases, stone diseases and male infertility, are taught interactively in the form of case discussions. Our medical students can also attend robotic surgery operations performed by Dr. Murat Binbay as observers.

Many studies are being conducted in the Department of Urology. Our academic staff have numerous internationally published works. In addition, we work together with medical students on ongoing studies and on the preparation of oral and video presentations for national and international congresses.
