Department of Dermatology and Venereology

The Department of Dermatology and Venereology was established within the Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Medicine and, as of 2022, has two faculty members: Assist. Prof. Dr. Sıla Kılıç Sayar, Head of Department, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Pelin Kuteyla Can. Theoretical education is provided at the Göztepe campus of the Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Medicine, while practical training is provided at the Göztepe Medical Park and Maltepe Medical Park hospitals. In this practical training, our students are taught diagnostic and treatment approaches for patients presenting to the outpatient clinic with dermatological complaints, and, when necessary, non-invasive dermatological procedures and dermatologic surgical applications are demonstrated. In theoretical courses, approaches to dermatological diseases are covered, with a focus on skin infections, skin cancers and inflammatory skin diseases.

The Department of Dermatology and Venereology has numerous completed and ongoing academic studies. Our academic staff have many articles published in international journals and papers presented at national and international congresses. As the Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Medicine Department of Dermatology and Venereology, we aim to provide our students with dermatology education at universal standards so that our graduates become competent physicians, and we continue our work in this direction.
