Aligned with Bahçeşehir University's strategic vision for artificial intelligence, the Applied Artificial Intelligence Directorate carries out its activities in close coordination with relevant academic and administrative units. Its primary focus is to enhance research and innovation capacity, facilitate the adoption and scaling of AI technologies across multiple sectors, encourage applied research, strengthen the University's AI ecosystem, and promote initiatives that generate societal and economic impact.

Research & Innovation
The Directorate coordinates interdisciplinary AI research activities across faculties, research centers, and laboratories. It facilitates collaborative research initiatives, evaluates emerging AI technologies, and promotes interdisciplinary R&D projects that address real-world challenges.
University-Industry Collaboration and AI Transformation
The Directorate works in coordination with relevant University units to facilitate the adoption, implementation, and scaling of AI technologies across different industries. Through collaborations with public institutions, private companies, technology firms, and startups, it helps connect academic expertise with industrial needs, promotes applied R&D projects, and supports the deployment of innovative AI solutions in real-world environments.
AI Education and Ecosystem Development
The Directorate collaborates with relevant academic and administrative units in planning and coordinating AI-related education, workshops, seminars, technical events, and awareness programs. By bringing together students, researchers, industry professionals, and public institutions through application-oriented activities, it contributes to the development of a sustainable AI ecosystem and a strong culture of interdisciplinary collaboration.
National and International R&D Activities
The Directorate actively participates in national and international applied research and development initiatives in artificial intelligence. It contributes as an academic partner to collaborative R&D projects involving public institutions, international organizations, research consortia, and industry partners, supporting the development of innovative AI solutions across diverse application domains. In addition, the Directorate conducts scientific studies on the trustworthy, ethical, and responsible use of artificial intelligence and contributes to the preparation of technical reports, strategic roadmaps, feasibility studies, and policy recommendations for decision-makers and public authorities.
Technology Development
The Office coordinates activities related to the maturation, validation, and practical deployment of AI-based technologies in collaboration with relevant University units. It contributes to initiatives that transform research outcomes into societal and economic value while encouraging the development of innovative technology-driven projects and entrepreneurship within the University's AI ecosystem.
