1. Silence and Library Environment
• Maintaining silence within the library is essential. Users are expected to avoid loud conversations and any behavior that may disturb others.
• Silence should also be observed when entering and leaving the library.
• Mobile phones must be kept on silent mode; phone calls should be made outside the library.
• The use of media without headphones and listening to music at high volume are not permitted.
2. Use of Study Areas
• Study areas and desks may not be occupied for extended periods by leaving personal belongings unattended.
Areas left unused for 40 minutes may be reassigned to other users, and necessary arrangements may be made by library staff.
• Group study activities may only take place in designated group study rooms; these areas must not be used for other purposes.
• Desks, chairs, and all study areas must be left clean, and waste should be disposed of in trash bins.
• The tables and furniture within the library are fixed in place and must not be moved.
• Sofas and seating areas may only be used for sitting; lying down, sleeping, or using them for resting purposes is not permitted.
3. Food, Beverages, and Tobacco Use
• Only water and beverages in sealed containers may be consumed within the library. All other food and beverages are prohibited.
• The use of tobacco and tobacco products within the library is strictly prohibited.
4. Use of Materials and Responsibilities
• Books taken from the shelves should not be returned to the shelves by users; they should be left on study desks.
• Materials that have not been properly checked out must not be taken outside the library.
• If a borrowed item has been reserved by another user, the loan period cannot be extended.
• Returning borrowed materials on time is the responsibility of the user.
Late returns are subject to overdue fines charged on a daily basis.
• Users are responsible for replacing lost books with the same title.
• If the original book cannot be obtained, the user is expected to provide one or more publications of similar content, as determined by the library, taking the current market value into consideration.
5. General Rules and Services
• The library is not responsible for lost or forgotten personal belongings.
• Users are required to follow the instructions and guidance provided by library staff.
• Library users may not bring guests; the library is open only to members of BAU (academic staff, administrative staff, and students).
• Photocopying services are not available within the library.
• Entry to the library with pets and the use of library services in this manner are not permitted.
