The FEJUST project has been at the forefront of innovation in teaching methodology, offering a dynamic and inclusive approach to learning. Our courses are designed as a hybrid, combining both face-to-face and online elements. At the heart of our teaching philosophy lies "Flipped Learning," a non-hierarchical approach that prioritizes student preparation through pre-class videos and actively encourages students to lead and moderate in-class discussions.
To facilitate this engaging educational experience, we harness digital tools such as Microsoft Teams, with its versatile breakout channels, and the active tools offered by the Itslearning platform. These tools empower students to engage in debates, discussions (which can be anonymized), and group work, among other collaborative activities.
Our teaching methods encompass art-based and participatory action research (PAR) components, including the innovative PhotoVoice and Participatory Video techniques. Additionally, students are involved in visual PechaKucha Presentations, designed as group projects. These activities not only provide a deep understanding of the course material but also equip students with valuable soft skills.
The FEJUST project aligns with the top priority of the Erasmus plus program: promoting inclusion and diversity in various ways. Firstly, our teaching and activities are designed to prioritize the perspectives of women, addressing the epistemic injustices often experienced by women in EU studies. Furthermore, we actively counteract the prevailing underrepresentation and marginalization of feminist viewpoints in the context of EU policymaking and the shaping of EU-Turkey relations within the realm of European studies.
As an illustration of our innovative teaching, here are some photos from our interactive sessions, which highlight the vibrant and engaging learning environment that defines the FEJUST Project.
