Orthodontics - Education

Undergraduate: During undergraduate education, students receive the training necessary to diagnose and classify orthodontic cases and refer them to a specialist dentist.

Specialization: This training teaches the diagnosis and treatment of cases with orthodontic problems and includes hands-on treatment. The title is earned by writing a specialization thesis and completing case treatments.

Doctorate: Together with doctoral courses, this training teaches the diagnosis and treatment of cases with orthodontic problems and includes hands-on treatment. The title is earned by writing a doctoral thesis and completing case treatments.

A specialist who knows the diagnosis and treatment of all orthodontic treatment techniques can perform all orthodontic treatments.

After graduation, dentistry graduates who wish to continue their education in Orthodontics can apply to Orthodontics Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs at universities' Graduate Schools or be placed in Orthodontics specialization programs by taking the Dentistry Specialization Exam (DUS). Colleagues who earn the title of PhD or Specialist Dentist can serve in private or public health institutions or continue their careers as academics at universities.
